I know Tee and he is more of a Vol than all the fans on here put together. People need to stop acting like scorned lovers.

Look guys, he already said his wife is trying to make it in the music industry. Lot better chance of her getting a contract there than here, read nothing more into his decision other than that.

.... Please lord make it stop..

Yeah Tee Martin.. Guy who helped bring us a national championship isn't a vfl.. Let me put it in perspective for you..

I'm a high school baseball head coach, last year we played my alma mater in a big game, I wanted to win that game more than any Bc that's where I'm from, we won and I was happy as hell. That doesn't mean I hate my school, I love it and hopefully one day will return but not right now. Another thing is that home is somewhere as a coach you generally return to after establishing your self as a coach. I plan on going home one day but it will be after I earn it and I'm well on my way to that.

Lastly, as I coach I appreciate going home. I love going home and watching a game and it be just that, a game. Its relaxing to go back home and I love that. At this point in his life he is happy, good for him. Grow up and stop trying to justify a decision by another man that he made for him and his family.

Him turning down Tennessee is not the reason why most of us are mad.

The way he did it is what was so wrong....

Playing the media taking a plane to Tennessee for publicity.

He could of just called Butch and said no, and that would of been the end of it. No media no bad press.

But he didnt he played us like a fiddle.

The dude was so happy, cheering on the TV interview when Kentucky beat us.

Then he joined Lane Kiffin, after what he did to Tennessee.

Then instead of turning down the job Butch offered him on the phone(No media), he had to fly down here for the Media and to get publicity.#TurneddownTennessee

Instead of rebuilding Tennessee he choose to help tear it down. By recruiting players away from us to USC to help Lane.

You people say, "I wish him well, he is a VFL after everything he has done for tennessee."

What has he ever done for Tennessee? Besides be on the 98 team?

Nick Saban won a NC at LSU. Do you think LSU fans say...
"Yeah that Nick Saban guy is a true LSU Tiger". LSUforlife

No LSU fans hates Nick Sabans guts

While I dont hate Tee Martin he is no more a VFL then Lane Kiffin....

As much as you may like to think it, you really don't know everything (or much of anything) about why he decided to keep his current job. Your willingness to crucify him for it simply dispays your ignorance.

You're looking at this from the inside. Most of us are just fans and our only concern is the extent to which the actions of persons such as yourself result in wins or losses. You should understand that.

There's alot more going on than we all know about. He just moved to LA last season. I'm sure he doesn't want to uproot his family this soon. Good luck, Tee.

It's a job and a career, people--and I agree timing was bad. He just got out to southern California, and has a job with a very good program, even if it's on probation, so I doubt he was keen to move again unless it was an opportunity too good to pass up. This wasn't--it was a lateral move, from LA to Knoxville, after he'd just moved. Also, I don't think he really knows any of the new UT coaches, does he? So in that respect there is no pull either. Dooley should have hired him if he's the big recruiting/coaching deal that everybody claims.

He wasn't coaching here in the first place and hasn't coached here. Why the butt hurting?
It's more like exorcising the demons of the past. People are tired of this program getting dumped on from every possible angle. We need something positive to rally around.

If we are talking strictly business decisions and professional ones then to me Tee made the best one for himself and his family. Any person on this board would do the same thing---and you would be lying through your teeth if you said otherwise.

Dude, he turned down the Vols doesn't mean he's not VFL. He happy there because he's proud of his recuriting class, I don't blame him for not leaving USC. @ least be glad he's the one bring us SEC championship in 98 & beat Fla St for Bowl game in 99...
