Tee Martin to Ole Miss?

I'd mercenary at my job too if Lane called me and offered $1M/year. Don't get confused by strange ideas about loyalty, home, and family. It's a career. Hardly ANY top coach in the nation is at their Alma Mater.

That being said, I assume (with 0 evidence) that Tee may be coming home to be tutored under Cheney and then be handed the reigns as OC. Cheney(Chaney?) has as long track record of moving around quickly. If Tee took over as OC, then he would have to be in some sort of position for the HC position as some future point if it opened. OK, I'm about 4 levels past present reality. But, I doubt he leaves without an exceptional opportunity.

$1Mil/yr in Oxford is a crap ton of money.

Who wouldn't? I know that its a career. The point is that UT is and should be different to him because it is home. Not saying he's a lifer here, but he's only been home for a cup of coffee. I would hope he'd stay for a few seasons and continue in restoring his alma mater. And exactly what I originally posted earlier - if he leaves now, then home doesn't mean as much to him as we (as fans) thought. Is he really going to make that much more jumping on somewhere else? A little more.... maybe.

I agree. Don't see him bolting for the first opportunity out there either.

Yes but we aren't some second rate hor school to him.

If he leaves for a coordinator jobs it understandable but he can do better than Ole Piss if hes willing to learn under Chaney for few years.

How could you blame him if its a promotion like oc??

You did bother to read the second sentence did you.

Recap:

Understand if he leave for a promotion but OC at Ole Miss isn't that great. If he stays under Chaney he'll get a better opportunity in a few years.
