He'll regret staying on that sinking ship and not jumping into the lucrative liferaft that Jones sent him.

People make it seem like Tee owes UT something. I am pretty sure he brought more than he took to the University. He was QB for one Special year and people act like he now owes them to come back. And to the posters that bring his kids into the converstation you are dumb and what people think about the fans in the south.

He choose to stay in SoCal although it be with Kiffen. Oh ya another point...get over the whole Kiffen thing you look dumb still complaining about that.

Tee made the best decision for himself and his family---I don't care if he was working for the University of Timbuktu...it's on him. We'll find a great replacement.

OK, So I have the best recruits in the nation...kind of the simular stance as Bama...no excuses not to win the NC...you think...Kiffin will be on the Hot Seat...if this job is what Tee says it is then expectations will exceed UT for the next 3-4 years that he would have had with CBJ...Im sure the wife had a bit to do with this...than we know.

But so be it..he is a home town son...but not the savior...

If he took the Bama job over his own school that wouldn't make the fan base happy at all. If he does do it then I could understand people bashing him.

I think our fanbase is to open to the ether with their emotions. A point of logic dictates if you speak don't be surprised if people scrutinize what you say. The fact is it is a justifiable assumption that if you speak you want people to hear.

Congrats to Tee. That is simply a better career move at this point. It doesn't mean he doesn't love Tennessee. He has already done a lot for this university.

Exactly. I think it was a good move. Tee is still VFL, so everyone hating on him, just stop. Seriously.

John Chavis is working for LSU....a lot of people on this website beg for him to return...guess he isn't a VFL huh?

Exactly. Chavis had the chance to come back and didn't. We didn't even return Tee Martin's calls last year and lost him to USC when we had the opportunity to have him.

This Tee bashing is useless. Guess what? Peyton could've come "home" last year and retired in Tennessee with the Titans. He made the best decision for himself and his family to sign with the Broncos. Everyone should get over themselves.

The man has pulled his family from one side of the country to the other over the last four years. When the wife says "enough, no more," then guess what? Enough.

Sunny Southern California would be my choice over Knoxville Tn......even though I'm a die hard Vol Fan

Who here doesn't live in their hometown because of work, relationships, etc?

Tee is a VFL, but he's in the same situation. It was a tough decision for him, and if it wasn't I highly doubt he would put his alma mater through all this. Regardless, this is when we need him the most, and he knows it... I don't think we should extend the option again. This sets us back a little bit in the recruiting department, but unless you were counting this chicken before it hatched, we had a long, bumpy road ahead of us anyway, but we will persevere and get back into prominence. GBO, and good luck to Tee in the future.

I really hate that he is not coming back to UT but the only thing that bothered me was if the wifey said NO why did they all fly across the country and parade through the airport and around campus? I feel he could have handled this over the phone... JMO

+1,000. I think you have to look at things with an objective eye. If we aren't where we are as a program currently would Tee look at this job with a little bit more optimism? Maybe, maybe not. We aren't coming off a great season. This program is probably as down as far as it can be without actually dwindling towards complete irrelevancy. BJ jumped to come here, obviously, because the opportunity to build this program is there and people realize it on the outside and the inside. Colorado is way behind the 8 ball and so is Purdue (jobs that BJ considered). I'd imagine this is BJ's dream job--because the other options aren't all that appealing. I'm not in the know as far as both programs but it's been a long time since Colorado has had a good football program. Criticize Tee all you want and yes the Trojans had a very disappointing year but despite all that USC is still as of present a better job than Tennessee--it just is. If you go on Rivals who is tops in recruiting---the Trojans. It's going to take a lot more then one bad year to sink that type of ranking. We've had five bad years...FIVE. USC's brand has a lot more luster then ours right now. Now that's not to say that can't change in the span of five years but you have to consider the brand--the current state of the brand--and where it's going. We haven't hit the absolute bottom but we can be salvaged. Good luck to Tee though---he was awesome for us and no one should say the guy shouldn't have a drink bought for him in any bar in Knoxville--fact is this is a reminder to all of us that we aren't where we need to be as a program and we still have a lot of work to do.

I think the professional and courteous thing to do is see someone man to man and let them know in person JMO. Besides that, who knows..if Kiffin gets the axe and Tee is looking for a job and we need some staff tweaks after BJ's first year....you never know...

I'm afraid Tee has burned a lot of bridges today, the average UT fan view's this as him siding with Kiffin when his university needs him the most.

At the end of the day, it is what it is. Good luck Tee.

USC was way overrated this year. I think even Lane would tell you that. IF they mess up next year, then he will be in trouble.

Even if Lane does end up fired, Saban wants Tee, so he will be just fine, imo.

he gave silas redd a powerpoint presentation as to why and how usc would win the national title if he played for the trojans...i think he had some lofty expectations this season

Maybe he just choice his family's happiness over his true desires because family is the most important thing to him.
Or maybe his wife didn't want him to be in the same town as his other baby momma. Maybe he looked at the trip to Knoxville as nothing but a paid trip to watch his son play basketball. You know, Sasha, Malia , and Michelle often take free trips that are paid for by others.
