Tee staying at usc a good choice?

Or maybe his wife didn't want him to be in the same town as his other baby momma. Maybe he looked at the trip to Knoxville as nothing but a paid trip to watch his son play basketball. You know, Sasha, Malia , and Michelle often take free trips that are paid for by others.

living in LA with all that nightlife, partying with rappers and movie stars, tons of hot chicks at the 24/7 clubs---difficult to give that up.

Have you seen the roster and the upcoming recruiting class at USC?
Kiffin will be better off w/out dad and expect them to bounce back next year.

Did anyone ever stop to consider that currently USC (in a bowl game) is still a better job than TN (no bowl game)...and that Tee's family (and Tee for that matter) are comfortable and enjoying living where they are living? I don't have inside knowledge but if BJ said "Tee, I'll make you an OC and you'll get an X amount of raise to come work for me" he would have said OK. Yeah throw in your little VFL's and all that junk--but we need Tee more than he needs us right now. It's a fact and if no one see that it they are in bigger denial than they care to admit. Odds are it was just a lateral move to a program where you are essentially working for an unknown quantity. A program that is probably as down as it is ever going to be at this point. Why hate on the guy? If he comes back here great---but if not---we can't find someone else that can't fill his position and do it just as well if not better????

i bet Tee would have came if we kept Hunter and CP. At USC, he can be the best receivers coach without ever coaching a day in his life. Kind of hard to turn that down.

People need to stop with the blind allegiance stuff. It's embarrassing. Tee Martin did what's best for his family. You have to respect that and move on. He had the decency and respect to come here with his family to show them how great a place Knoxville is. They didn't share in that opinion. Oh well. You have to do what's best for your family. And when Kiffin is fired after another 7-5 season next year, we can welcome Tee back with open arms.

you lost me
You can add Barack to that if you don't know who Sasha, Malia, and Michelle are. What I am saying is that it wouldn't be the first time for a family to load up and take a free trip across the country on someone else's dime, and take the trip purely for pleasure. I would say that he had no intention of ever coming here.

This is not his home. Mobile, Alabama is his home . Knoxville is where he went to college. So did I, but I don't particularly want to live there.

I agree with you to some extent, but if Lane goes 7-5 or 8-4 again their whole staff will be looking for a new job - Tee Martin included...and after turning us down I am not sure he should get another opportunity. Just my two cents

So due to a business decision (which is what Tee made) you would forgo the opportunity to hire Tee again and hold this against him? I don't know if I would agree with that...the crazies on here wanted John Chavis back so bad they wanted to name him HC. Yet, at the time when we had him the fanbase thought he sucked because of some poor performances by his defenses. During the coaching search, you had people ready to hand him the HC job on a silver platter. Luckily, it was never an option for a variety of reasons. You see how that's worked out--same thing to a certain extent with Fulmer or some of the other former staff. I think it's short sighted to burn bridges because of some emotional BS or a decision that's made in the best interest of a business relationship.

i think its a tough call, and it really comes down to a personal decision. its probably easier to recruit the drama queens (and hotshot wr's can be) to LA than knoxville, so maybe it is a better state/city for a positions coach (LA is a county, whatever dont be a smartass).

the thing i dont like is how public it became (probably jone's fault b/c the press conf), then waiting to hear the public rejection from our nc qb. kind of a shame, and i know i shouldnt, but i unjustly like tee less after all this, mainly b/c it put ut in a situation that it looks bad.

also, have you called ralph brown and associates yet? you should.
