Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (June 6, 2014)

Yeah, but get paid. Fire, if you wrote a short story, I'd read it.

Just be aware that short stories are far different than short stories in books as the first one could be as short as a 1,2 , 3 half a inning in baseball or the intro time of Full House.:)

Currently I'm writing a fantasy movie series takes place in Chicago.

Mainly inspired by supernatural, the mortal instruments book series, cal leandros book series.

First off this film may still be crap but why they edited the first trailer the way they did made no sense? Everyone I have seen since makes the film at least look possibly good!

And we get a "Cowabunga"!!!

Now new poster!

Let me preface what I'm about to say with this disclaimer:

I am in no way defending this steaming pile of crap. In fact, its not only gonna be a steaming pile of crap, it will be a steaming pile of crap wrapped up in burnt hair. It will be a steaming pile of crap wrapped up in burnt hair and left in a baby diaper pale. On the seat of a campground toilet. A campground toilet left at the bathroom of a drive-in movie.

But I digress.

There are actually people blasting that poster cause it brings back images of 9-11. I am getting so sick of this overly sensitive, politically correct society that has nothing better to do than look for something wrong in a movie poster feature teenage ninja turtles of all thing. Its beyond ridiculous. Grow some balls.

/rant off

Sorry...grew up with the Turtles....had the original run of toys...watched the old cartoons and even the comic book and...

I actually think this looks good.

I hope it is closer to PG though instead of barely R as I am taking my kids to see this and hope its ok.

Well, in the interest of full disclosure, the reason that people even brought it up was due to the international version of that release poster. Like most movie posters, the international version includes the release date for the film on the poster. The international release date for TMNT? September 11th.

So people are getting mad because it is being released Internationally on 9-11? Seriously?

I wasn't necessarily saying I agreed with it. My point was just that people didn't see the poster and automatically just start saying it out of nowhere. They saw a poster with a picture of a building exploding and the date September 11th written on it.

I wasn't saying you did. Just that it's silly IMO

It took a while to grow on me but I now like watching the new Turtles Nickelodeon toon!

Well I'm taking my son to see the noon showing tomorrow at the Bradley square cinema. I don't expect a mega blockbuster movie, but I hope it is at least entertaining.

Just got back from seeing it. My son had a great time. I think it was good/ok. Some parts you are kinda WTF, and the changes they made to the origin story is eh, but not a deal breaker. Over all it was what it was just a fun summer flic, not a epic blockbuster.

Got my free ticket (code is on TMNT Nickelodeon Animated releases) probably will wait and go next week as I want to see Guardians of the Galaxy first.

I'm hearing from a lot that its not spectacular but its not bad either and is basically a fun "popcorn" flick!

I don't know who edited the first trailer that was released but they should be fired. It made this film look horrible but all the others actually made at least look interesting and fun.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shells In $25 Million Opening Day

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shells In $25 Million Opening Day

Whatever you have to say about Paramount Pictures’ decision to remake Eastman and Laird’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, produced by Michael Bay, directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles) and starring Megan Fox, William Fichtner and Will Arnett, it’s definitely one for the “win” column as it pulled in an estimated $25 million its opening day with $4.6 million coming from Thursday previews.

That’s a solid showing that points to an opening weekend in the range of $60 million or more depending on how front loaded it is due to its undeniable fan interest. That’s a bigger opening day than the $24.3 million opening for Disney’s Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie which took in $69.4 million in its three-day opening in late May, though many schools were still in session, plus its appeal to women meant it could stretch itself further over the coming summer months.

That’s also a stronger opening than Paramount’s similarly fannish G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra which opened with $22.2 million in early August 2009 for a $54.7 million weekend, as well as Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which had a $19 million opening day and $54.8 million first weekend in early August two years later. Considering that both those movies received sequels, one would expect that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will follow suit.

Went to see Guardians of the Galaxy today for a matinee showing and was surprised to see that TMNT was sold out. Its doing much better than I anticipated it would and won't be surprised if it does $70 Mil. this weekend.
