There has been moral rot for thousands of years...really since humanity has been walking the earth. It's because of sin. We are seeing sins now a days that would not have even been thought of in earlier years because of our great life of comfort and complacency, but there has always been a rot to the fringe that embraces the darker side.
In 1894 my great, great, great, grand parents were murdered by two would be robbers that had heard they had lots of gold/cash. My great, great, great grandfather Snodderly owned a mill on Hinds Creek and had made a good living. The criminals burst into the home and blasted both of them. My dad has the bible that he was reading when he was murdered. If I recall it may even have a little blood on it. They were both hanged later that year. It may have been the last public hanging in Union county.
