Some people had said Coach Pearl could not coach. It would be hard for anyone to coach five days after such devastating news, but tonight, Coach Pearl and our Vols showed they know a thing or two about basketball.

I could not have been more proud of a group. They played one of our better games of the year. Lots could be said, but let it suffice to say our basketball team and coaches made us very proud tonight.

Give it a break, no one died.

I agree with you, but be prepared to get flamed.

They will offer a rebuttal of..."wait til' Sunday."

It doesn't matter if it was Youngstown State, UT is playing with 6 scholarship players!!!!! This was a great win tonight and good to see the freshmen like Hall and Skylar hitting some 3's in the 2nd half. UT will need those 2 to win games in the conference. I would expect a loss this weekend to Kansas but hopefully they can keep it close to help their confidence going into the SEC season.

Yea I'm on a high after this one I didn't know what to expect. But Kansas will bring us back to earth.

This game, though, led me to believe we'll be just fine in SEC play except playing UK. We can still compete!! GO VOLS!

Love one game reactions.

This thread and the Woolridge one are prime examples of that.

I think he can coach, but can he coach well? That's another issue. I've watched about 3/4 of our games this year and almost every game against somewhat of a decent opponent, we go to sleep in the 2nd half. Sometimes we wake up in about the last 8-10 minutes, but most of the time we're blowing double digit leads. This is not indicative of good coaching and will kill us down the stretch.

Looks like Cornell is bringing Kansas down to earth as we speak.

This is his opportunity to prove a lot of people, me included, wrong. Obviously we need a considerably bigger sample size than one game against an A10 opponent.

Beating Charlotte shorthanded doesn't mean he's a good coach. Losing to Kansas shorthanded won't mean he's a terrible coach either. Let's see how he does when he gets into the SEC schedule.

The last time I looked this was the same Charlotte team that took Louisville to the woodshed ... but maybe you don't remmeber

Louisville has 4 losses this year. Don't make them out to be world beaters.

CBP is awesome...we are lucky to have him abd his staff. Anyone who doubts this statement either has memory problems or sh*t for brains.

Yeah but some of these fools think Pearl should be fired and he knows nothing about the game...Amazing

I've noticed this in every game in every season since Bruce Pearl has been our coach. We always get a big lead, then almost lose it. It happens in nearly every game. That's just the way it goes when you play Bruce's style.

One time, in Bruce's 3rd year, we had a 19 point lead that went to just a 1 point lead in LESS THAN A MINUTE in one game.

Whatever you do, never say anything positive about your coach and/or the team.

How come I get the feeling that some of you aren't happy that the team won tonight?
