Really? Do you watch the game at all, other then Tennessee? You know football is played out side that state? Im not sure Phil would have had success at Hawaii or SMU? The guy wanted a name I provided one. Atleast it is unique and different. And June Jones has NFL ties, proven recruiter, and no baggage following him. He has never had Facilities, budget, or fan support. He was at Hawaii what Bruce Pearl was to UT.

It's funny you mention Phil. It's hard to replace a LEGEND!! This program would be no worse off if we would have never fired him. Your right, it's hard to replace a guy with 150 wins!! Hell, bring him back!!

The problem with Tennessee is this. We think were better then we are. A name like June Jones is scoffed at. We think we have to have the "home run hire"......WE DONT, we need a winner. And their are alot of them out there. Other than the other candidates always mentioned on here. Golden, Patterson, Peterson, Fisher, Strong,,,,,You think June Jones would be worse than Lane Kiffen or Derek Dooley?

I agree we need a "winner" I think June Jones is a good coach, however he went 6-6 this season at SMU. Do you think that would excite Vols fans? Hart better make a hire that gets this fan base excited or donations and season ticket sales will drop.

I know what your saying. 6-6 doesn't seem impressive, But it's SMU. Until he came there that program was still recovering from the death penalty in the 80's. And look at the job he did at Hawaii. Hes has as many, if not more contacts to the NFL as Kiffen or Gruden has had. But Hawaii nor SMU have the facilities nor the budget that UT has. June Jones done alot with very little.

I wouldn't mind Charlie Strong. Peterson and Patterson I feel have set the bar at their schools. I don't think they leave, and if they do, we will pay a ton for them. And I dont blame them. If im Peterson sitting on my mountain in Boise it would be like, "you want me, Uprooting my family and leaving this? 6 million is the price", I honestly feel that's how that conversation would go. Al Golden is the wild card here. He done well at Temple no doubt, But I would always be hesitent to hire anybody from Miami, or that's had anything to do with that program. Don't know why, I just dont trust it. I love the VOLS, I know you do to. There are people out there who would be a good fit. who have no baggage, that need our facilities and budget to make it happen.

By the way, Love the name. 1985 Tennessee Volunteers is my all-time favorite team. "It's amazing what can happen, when know one cares who get's the credit"!! Total team concept!
