You know Rocker has his obvious short commings and I'm more than willing to bet he did his fair share of 'roids, but man when he got 2 strikes on someone and threw that duece piece, it was over. That pitch, when he was in his prime, was one of the most deadly in Baseball.

If Pete Rose hadn't turned into an attention whoring turd, he's definitely be toward the top of my list. If Nolan hadn't clearly turned to a roid machine, he's also be there (although I never believed him to be a winner).

If we were talking best, presumably these lists look a lot different. Every one of these would probably have Bonds on it.

Bonds is to much of a jerk and full of himself. He was good though.

You're absolutely right. I don't think it will ever happen though.
why. The guy's a total redneck and broke one of the cardinal rules of the sport.

I like Rose. I own every Pete Rose baseball card ever produced and I still don't think he should be in the hall. I understand that there are other degenerates in the hall, but he and Shoeless Joe were both potential scoreboard cheaters.

I always liked Smoltz; I do wish they could have kept the guy in the closer role. McGriff would be near the top, and so would Maddux. The rest of the list would be chock full of Braves with "until" after their names, e.g. Otis Nixon until the nose candy, David Justice until he beat his wife and became a Yankee, Tommy Glavin until the strike, but I guess guys can't stay heroes forever.

As for other teams, I always liked Mo Vaughn. The guy just swallowed the plate every time he was at bat, and laying out that Yankee who was charging his pitcher was epic. Frank Thomas would probably make the list even though he is from Auburn.

I never liked Pedro, but he won my heart when he punked Zimmerman. Big Baldy Nostalgic wants to come play with the young boys then he needs his ass thrown down.

Because, I loved the way he played the game. Charlie Hustle.
