1. The development of Brian Williams over the last 10 games were huge. He gives us a legitamate big guy down low. His rebounding and D will be key next year.

2. If we don't get Josh Selby, we are really going to need a scorer from the guard position. Hopefully Scotty can step up the aggression and learn to dribble, and Cam can stay healthy and capitalize being the starter next year.

3. Harris will be the starting 4 next year. He is a lot like Tyler Smith, except he has a much better outside game. He is going to cause a lot of problems. I envision a 14/7 for him.

4. The PG position is going to be key of course. If Selby is here, then the question is answered. If not, the questions will be if Goins is able to be the main ball-handler/distributor (which he struggled with this year) and if Golden can make the transition from a scoring 2 to PG.

5. This will be a big year for Bruce Pearl. We also saw what worked best. Focusing more on the half-court game led us to new heights. Let's pray that the whole controlled chaos thing is done.

6. I'm very curious to see the player Jordan McRae is. Apparently from what I've heard, he is a lot like JP Prince with his length and athleticism, yet he has a more-developed offensive game with a sweet stroke from outside. We really are going to need scoring off the bench, and I'm hopeful McRae can become that.

7. Could we use another big man? Yes. If we don't get one, will it kill us? No. With Williams in the best shape of his life, Harris going to be a main contributor from the beginning, and Hall should improve, which will increase his minutes. Can you live with Woolridge/Pearl off the bench 5-10 minutes? Yes. If we are in foul trouble, then we could be in trouble. Maybe Maymon can contribute somehow. We could really use E-Man, but sadly it is not the smartest thing to let him play.

8. Speaking of Kenny Hall, expect an excellent year for him. He needs to get to about 250, but now at 6'10 (and apparently still growing) with that length, he can become a star. He needs to box out better, and improve his pick-n-roll defense.

9. The key player for the season: Scotty Hopson. I believe the work ethic is there. Pearl has said that Scotty has not flourished because of Tyler, Wayne, JP, etc. We will see. His D improved throughout the year. Offensively, his shot look better, yet his dribbing is atrocious, and he's soft. We will see if Scotty can make the leap. (My guess is no).

10. This team currently is not a Final Four team. Sweet Sixteen? Absolutely. But I do not believe the team can contend for the Final Four next year yet. If we do get Josh Selby (and I have no idea where we are with him) it changes everything. He's an electric scorer and can be a playmaker. If we get the addition of Selby, this makes us a Final Four contender.

Go Vols!!! :hi:

I'm like you I can't wait to see Jordan play if he is like JP with a better offensive game, he could be special. I also think the Golden is going to surprise a lot of people and could possibly become our star player.

I've heard Golden is a much better player this year than last year.

Yeah i've heard the same thing. I'm just glad we are bringing in a guy who can actually shoot free throws and make them.

Him and 2011 PG Chris Jones both make over 90%. That's huge, especially are two starting wings for next year shoot less than 65%.

I know I think this is actually what I am most excited about over the next couple of seasons.

Solid writeup.

After watching Goins' play in the tournament I feel much better about his ability to run this team at the point.

I sincerely hope we have multiple guys who can break down defenses.

And I can not stress enough how I hope the controlled chaos garbage is shelved for eternity.

Goins played very well in the tourney, but he needs to be able to handle ball pressure better or teams will get right up in his face.

Scotty can when we wants too. I've heard Cam's knees are now healthy, so he should be able to. He has shown flashes. Golden is explosive and if we get Selby, he can easily put up 15 ppg.

Do I believe we will see the press sporadically? Yes, and that is fine. I highly doubt we will press late during the year.

fixed it for you.

But I agree with all of these points.

I just don't see the light switch flipping for Scotty.

I would love to see him get it, but his primary issues can't be coached.

I know. It's pretty sad. Kid can be an all-american if his head on was straight. That's why we need Selby badly, for the scoring production from the guard spot.

There's not much control to the controlled chaos.

Shelve that crap for good.

We saw what playing the halfcourt game does in March.

Exactly. That press was doing something great in the Tourney wasn't it?

Now I have no problem pressing the UNC-A's of the world to get some cheap baskets.

But when it comes to conference time and especially March, cut that stuff out.

Also with Cam, if he can become more consistent the need for the scorer will drop considerably. But there's a fine line between streaky and flat out inconsistent and he's flirted with it thus far in his career. Whether that's knees or not we may not know until fully healthy.

Totally agree. Press UNC-A and end the game in the first ten minutes. That's good strategy.

Well, I agree to an extent. Pearl said his knees are almost fully recovered I believe. That should help. I think scoring-wise in the post will be fine with Harris, the development of Williams, and Hall has shown flashes. But if Scotty or Cam are able to average 15 ppg, and not just against the Austin Peay's of the world, then having Selby won't be as big of an issue. The problem is we have no idea if that will happen.

That is not the way I would phrase it. Scotty has a (very unfortunate) tendency to exhibit on-court reticence. But he isn't holding up random kids from Maryville -- who obviously have not a cent to their name -- at the local Pilot, skipping practice to get high and knock up fat girls, or even stealing outerwear from the local Nordstroms. "Head on straight" kind of implies the latter.

A lot of the national guys seem to think there's a good chance Scotty is gone.

Goodman(Fox) and the draftexpress guy for two, I've seen at least a couple of others while I've been surfing around the net. It's about half and half, although they all seem to think he would be better served coming back.

Durant would hang fitty on him. Of course, nobody in their right mind would ever place Hopson on Durant, other than perhaps Coach Klein.

Not trying to defend Scotty, but Durant could put 50 up on about anybody if he wanted to. With that being said, he would probably go for about 70 on Scotty.
