Some talk that CCM will offer Kentucky an OOC game if the SEC takes away the 2nd game every year. It'd keep It so that it was sti a home and home every year, BUT only one of those games would count as a conference game.

In sure cal won't take this as he's not about playing in others gyms now, see nc and Indiana series. I like the fact though that CCM will put it out there it seems and make calipari come out and turn it down.

Could always make it a neutral site game in Memphis!!! We want to get into Memphis one a year anyways, and I'm sure calipari wouldn't mind that exposure. I'm sure pastner would freak out at the thought of UK-UT playing in Memphis every year though.

I'm not sure Cal would make it out of Memphis alive. He would have to coach from a protective bubble.

The issue is its more than KY. If we play our "rival" teams twice each year that's Florida, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Granted vandy will be down this year, but normally those 3 are right at the top in the sec. So why should we play those teams 3 times while bama plays 3 garbage teams 2 times? It's not like the sec season doesn't matter, sure if we win it's nice, but losses could keep us from a bye in the sec t, and tack on more L's to the record.

I just don't see the gain outweighing the loss by playing Kentucky Florida vandy 3x while other teams were competing with like bama play 3 cake teams. I'd rather win the sec tournament and get a high seed in the NCAA than occasionally beat UK, but miss on byes and get lower seeds in the NCAA.

With that angle we should put Bama on a rotating basis in football...but I want to play them every year....I like the competition and let's us know where our program is...

I really like the idea of a neutral site game in Memphis. Great exposure in West TN, keep two games a year with KY, and piss of Pastner.

Really this is the answer for the Memphis Tigers and Pastner not wanting to play us....I couldnt care less if we drop Memphis because no matter whats said we should beat Memphis every year based on some folks way of thinking...no win situation...Drop those Tigers and play a game OOC every year in Memphis, or in conference for that matter...say Ole Miss, Miss St., Ark. etc etc...If we just have to play in Memphis...

I'm not sure cal would agree anywhere, but maybe Nashville. Highly doubtful hell except home/home series though.

A Memphis played game would be entertaining though.

Stalling's head would expode if UT played UK in Nashville on a regular basis.

He doesn't have as much reason as pastner does. Plus we played a neutral site game there a few years ago without any issue, it wasn't UK, but it was still Tennessee playing a neutral game in Nashville.

Yeah, UT playing Belmont or Austin Peay in Nashville is one thing. UK and UT in Nashville would be something different.

Oklahoma State is not Kentucky. And Oklahoma State playing in Nashville once is not UK playing there annually.

No I'm just saying, stallings didn't have a heart attack about that. Once again, I'm sure he wouldn't be excited about it, but 1. He has no control over Nashville and 2. He wouldn't be as adamant as pastner.

Fed ex is about the only "big" arena in Memphis, so options are limited. Nashville has quite a few options other than memorial gym. Stallings can't do anything but whine about it, pastner actually can make it difficult for UT.

Cal will absolutely not play a conference team as a non-conference game…

I find that very hard to believe as well. He doesn't need Memphis either. If he wants to get a kid from there, then most likely he will get him anyway. He's at the point where he's doing more picking and choosing than recruiting. Best option, IMO, is to get one of the west SEC teams and make it an annual game in Memphis if an arena is available. It won't be at Fedex though.
