Tennessee (12) vs LSU (5) Game Thread - 9 PM - SECN

Bullpen struck again, and 7-8 hitters didn't have good approaches with 2 in scoring position in the 6th. That's what stands out.

It was so hard watching that in the stands but glad I got to watch it with my dad!!!!! But the worse choke job I have ever seen pitching was so bad after neely!!! Serrano is most likely gone

We blew this game to pieces. Our bullpen didn't hold up AGAIN. Serrano made some questionable decisions. I honestly can't believe what I just watched. I know it's our baseball Vols but still this was quite unbelievable. :eek:hmy:

Cannot say enough about the job Neely did tonight.

2nd & 3rd with one out and not adding runs that inning came back to bite us.

Andy Cox is one of the worst competitors I've ever seen. I'm not blaming any single loss entirely on him, but I'm not going to miss him next year. At all. I know Martin screwed the pooch in the end, but that should've been a 4-1 game going to the bottom of the 9th. Cox barely was able to get 1 single out.

Seriously. Neely was mowing them down and only had a 84 pitch count. Of course Dave gave the wheel to our crappy bullpen.

I think Neely was pulled at the right time. He was starting to get hit hard. Without great defense he gives up a couple in the 5th. I just wish we had went with Soto instead. Neely did a heck of a job tonight.

Bartlett getting picked off was a bad sign to come IMO. He threw over 4-5x already, you've seen his move(s) yet you still get caught. You had the pitcher rattled; shorten your lead, hold tight and force him to throw a strike to the plate. We couldn't afford to give up an out there.

How can you blame this on Serrano…some of you folks must have never played this game! The Vols ran the bases beautifully, they played great defense, he pulled Neely when he should have, and the bullpen struggled again…Tip your cap to LSU…Hunter came in and had the best stuff a closer has had all year. LSU had great at-bats and won. A gut-wrenching loss for sure, but to start pointing fingers…pathetic.

Ite easy to blame him

He put the game in the hands of a kid that he kicked off the team last year proving he can't be trusted

He also in the pitching coach of the worst staff in the SEC

Not hard to blame him really

Who recruited said bullpen?

Don't understand:

Why do coaches pull out a great starting pitcher when they throw one or two bad balls just to replace them with guys coming in cold and they have NO idea what kind of stuff they might have? Over-coaching??

Why do teams expect to win and others just kind of expect to lose?

Why does that shortstop from LSU kind of remind me of that soccer girl for USA Soccer?

Just got back from the game, and I'm not surprised at all. As soon as I saw Andy cox run onto the field I knew we would give up some runs. Then when we gave up that massive home run, I knew we were done for. The LSU fans were loud and Tennessee fans were not to be heard. We left right after that homer, and sure enough, we heard on the radio we lost.

You are either a very, very loyal Tennessee fan or you live close by in Alabama. Either way, you have my condolences.
