Tennessee #8 in CFP

I will be taking all favorites ahead of us on the ML and parlaying them (I do not hit parlays). Did it last week, gonna do it again.

Depends on who they lose to and by how much. If head-to-head matter, then why is Texas ranked higher that Georgia right now? And why is SMU ranked higher than BYU?

If Georgia loses, while we all think it makes sense for a 3 loss Georgia team to make the playoffs, most folks outside the SEC may not agree.
Head to head only comes into play when teams are only narrowly separated. It isnt the end all be all. Otherwise, Vandy would be ranked higher than Bama.

Scenario 1) TX beats A&M and then beats GA. GA is out and we host game
Scenario 2) TX loses to A&M and A&M beats GA. GA is out, TX moves to 6-8 and TN plays on road.
Scenario 3) TX beats A&M and loses to GA. GA gets bye, TX moves to 6-8 and TN plays on road.

There is not a scenario where TN plays GA again in the fist round.
Where is the scenario where Texas loses both games and Georgia kicks A&Ms ass

Sorry, Texas has a better resume than us by criteria if they lose this weekend. We both lost to UGA, we got beat AT Arkansas, They won AT Arkansas. The fact that we beat a ranked, non-common opponent would not matter as much.
Texas also got blown tf out by Georgia at Home. If they lose to A&M then they will not have a quality win.

I want to play ND
I too wouldn't mind playing them but in their stadium in December could be the bigger issue. Our QB being raised in California likely hasn't had to worry about feeling the football in sub 30 degree temperatures and with possible precipitation or all out snow to boot.

That being said if it's between playing Notre Dame or Georgia on the road then pack the thermals. I think little chance we can survive playing Georgia in Athens.

We need Georgia to take a 3rd loss to Texas and possibly Ohio St would fall below us if Oregon beat them. That's the only way we get ranked high enough to host a game.

If Georgia beats Texas that just creates another 2 loss team to compete with and if OSU beats Oregon then both will stay ranked above us.
OSUs only losses would be 2 to Oregon the #1 only undefeated team, in that scenario I do not see them falling behind us. Just not going to happen with the B1G lean on the committee.

At least 3 teams ranked above the Vols will lose before the final CFP ranking.

Likely, at 10-2 the Vols will host.
Not sure about 3, but I do think that if we handle Vandy with authority and show some prowess in the passing game, it will give voters permission to jump us up to a host position...and we will deserve it.

Vandy is good...VT quality win, OT L to Miz, beat #13 Bama, lost to TX by 3, beat Auburn by 10 who just beat TaM, close loss to LSU. From a matchup perspective, we are probably more like SC than anyone they've played, and if we get similar result, think we'll host.

You are assuming they beat Michigan this week? All bets were on Bama, Ole Miss and A&M to win last week.
