Tennessee at Kentucky Game Thread---9PM--ESPN

The thing that is really annoying: We have every bit as much as talent as UK. A lot of it doesn't even get in the game, so you really have to wonder about the coaching in a situation like this. UK has all of it's big recruits on the floor and contributing, while we have them on the scout team while walk ons and transfers get big minutes.

We don't have the talent that Kentucky has. They're younger but more talented.

I think I'm not even going to bother watching UT @ UK anymore, because other than Pearl's first year, his teams just simply don't show up.

Wow. Really? I haven't been in the Basketball forum in...ever but I wasn't expecting that. We are where we are (obvious I know, but evidentially it's not). We have to improve and our head coach has been out for half the season.

The season is just beginning really. Go Vols!

where have you been all year ? Pearl just missed 8 games out of 25 not the other way around. The season may have just started for you but it begin back Nov

No we don't.

Yes we do. Hopson and Harris are both 5 star top 5 Mc Donalds All Americans (just like Jones and Knight). We have Hall, McRae, Golden, Woolridge, Tatum, who are all top 100 4 star players. We are on paper one of the most talented teams in the country. We just have no idea how to play the game.

No he can't. He can't play. He plays well against weaker competition, and he was decent against Ohio St which is his one game of his career. He has proven the other thousand times against good competition he simply cannot get it done. He's too slow, he has awful hands, he's extremely soft on defense and on the boards, and he can't score around the basket. He's really, really tough to watch.

Watching him is painful. He can definitely step at times though. There is no Elite 8 last year without him.

It's bittersweet... On one hand, he is a big body that can step up in big games occasionally. On the other hand, his hands are terrible, takes stupid shots and misses the easy ones regularly.

I'm not saying we are as good as UK. We're not. That's obvious. I'm saying pure talent and recruiting wise, we are right where they are, we just aren't translating it into good basketball on the court.

Our teams basketball IQ is equivalent to a middle school team

Like I said, he was great against Ohio State last year, yes. I can count the number of times I think he has played well on one hand, and a few of those are against the likes of teams like Auburn, etc.

He's a big, slow, soft body with horrible hands. I don't think it really helps.
