Just generally...I mean, I think when the involved individuals are 10 and up...does the wife still need to call it a play date? Can't we just not call it anything...or so and so is coming over...or so and so is gonna hang out...

Brother, you have a much better chance of fixing our baseball program than figuring out why women do stuff. Just drink up and let it go.

well, to me, the way I first remember it being used I was growing up...let's say late sixties...because my Mom would use it when I would go out or friends came over...as in "got a play date today"...or "going out for a play date"...but, actually haven't heard it used in years...of course I've been away from the "real" south for a while...:)
