Tennessee fans, they’re rabid fans

This game will be a sellout even if the weather is bad. Columbus is about a 6 hr drive from Knoxville as well.
Absolutely it will be a sellout. It might even hit record attendance. I am just thinking of this in terms of motivation. If it wasn't as close to Christmas, it would be different. But a lot of people have stuff going on and there is the expense. If half the stadium is orange, I would say the vols have the most rabid fanbase out there.

Weigel's eggnog is the essence of winter motivation in Knoxville.

Under. I say 5000.
I'm confident we'll have more than 5,000. We're starting with 3,500 and the demand will be much higher than that. For Vol fans who live in Ohio, this is their rare chance to see their team. I think we'll have somewhere between 7,500 and 10,000, but many of those will be spread around the stadium, so it might be deceptive.

Yes. I think the idea that our people are finding and buying thousands elsewhere is wishful thinking. Hope I’m wrong though.

I think that the cutoff for the 3500 was met quickly with notification to season ticket holders to look elsewhere it an indication that the interest in there.

Do I think this will equate to half the stadium being orange? No. But I do expect the amount of orange to be noticeable.

The number of listings for the playoff games are interesting -

- IU at Notre Dame: 600 - 700 listings
- Clemson at Texas: 1000 - 1500 listings
- SMU at Penn State: just under 4000 listings
- TN at OSU: 4000 to 5700 listings

Conclusion - Notre Dame has the best retention in terms of season ticket holders keep the tickets - Texas is next. PSU and OSU season ticket holders seemed to have bought tickets to sell them rather than using them.

So the tickets are out there for Tennessee fans to take them if they are able / willing to pay the price. If you assume on average 2 tickets per listing, that is 8,000 - 11,400 to be had.

Is that currently? Because a lot of people have already bought.

I just did a quick view of the # listings on Vivid Seats, Seat Geek and yes there is over 4000 resale listings on VS and 5733 on Seat Geek. Ticketmaster doesn't show total listings so I can't determine what is there without literally counting the tickets and I don't have time for that. lol

No other game comes close to # listings at OSU and PSU have. Maybe even those fans don't like the weather.

Their fans have basically abandoned them so if there's going to be a full house you need to get those tickets to us Vol fans some way or another.

How would we prevent this to happen to us? Simple. Season ticket holders have the option to buy a home game ticket before the game is scheduled. If there is no home game, then money is refunded . It is quite simple.
