Tennessee getting left behind

Patience is a virtue.

Didn't Bama fire Shula in November and not hire Saban until the end of Jan. ?? They waited until the end of the NFL season to even present an offer. I'm sure they had a pretty good idea he would say yes before waiting that long........

Left behind? We are making the most monumental hire in NCAA college football history. We are getting a coach to choose us over Arkansas, the Philadelphia Eagles, NY Jets, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers and a host of other NFL and college team. Even Bud Adams wants him to replace Mike Munchak.

The recruits know who the next coach is and they are lining up. We will win the SEC East and be playing for national championships.

Can't wait for Friday!

I wish I was as delusional as you are. Actually I don't, because I'd be setting myself up for a huge letdown.

Not gonna happen boys. Sorry to wake yall up from the dream. But use logic, why would an NFL coach choose UT over the NFL(which offers more money and you don't have to worry about recruiting) or ESPN broadcasting? No smart coach would, and Gruden's a smart coach. It logically doesn't make sense for him to come here. I'm optimistic for UT, but you have to be realistic about the situation.

What do yo guys think about Tennessee being left behind in the coaching search. If Arkansas gets Peterson auburn gets bobby. We don't get you know who or stoops. I hope we don't end up with butch davis or al golden

Be calm little one. When all is said and done I think you will see we made the first hire.

How can you be left behind when you know UT can get golden/strong anytime we want? Just wait until all the 4* and 5* recruits come running in after the announcement.

There is no way Peterson is going to Arkansas, I would think Davis would be more like it.

I can give you a couple of reasons, first NFL coaches have very little control of what players they have on the roster, second look at highest paid NFL coach and Colleges are going to be a lot more competitive than in the past with TV money pouring in.

I love these threads..Arky is not getting Peterson for starters. Second even if they were Petrino, M.Stoops and Peterson arent even viable options anyway. Even the espn guys say UT is the best available job and will make the best hire and that will be Gruden. But again even if we werent getting him we werent pursuing any of those 3.

Lets see where to start. First off he has coaching in his blood, thats why he wont stay in the booth. Second in the NFL you have very little control over what players you have. He has already won a super bowl and maybe he wants to see if he can win a NC to go along with that at a university he loves alot. Coach's have unreal egos and do you think Spurrier works 18for hrs a day? No not even close. He will be our next coach and I hate deeply to burst your bubble but its going down soon. To think he has no desire to coach college is just incorrect. He wont have to deal with the millionaire brats and owners who try to control everything. Thats why bro.
