The Republican nominee for governor, Bill Lee, donated money to Chuck Shumer's candidate for the Tennessee senate, the democrat nominee for governor, Karl Dean, and disgraced Leftist Megan Barry.

I may not vote in the governor's race.

Wow. I didn't know this. It does seem like Bill Lee only calls himself a Republican because that makes it easier to be elected in Tennessee.... and because conservatives in Tennessee don't research their candidates during the primary - it worked.

Ras, I have somewhat of a different view when it comes to Rinos vs real republicans. I think it’s contrary to the claims of most people. Conceivably the republican nominee is the epitome of a real republican by nature because the nominee is the result of all Republicans’ voting preferences, a party founded on nationalism, war and mercantilism. The nominees in the past 20 years, GWB, McCain, Romney, Trump (although he ran as a Rino before he became a real republican) have lived up to this billing. Imo, the Rinos are people like Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, Justin Amash (before he left the party), etc. These folks are generally against the growing encroachment of the federal govt, wars of adventure and unrestrained deficit spending and thus unelectable on a national stage because they do not represent the views of most republicans. Bill Lee seems to be a real republican.

just be glad it was Lee in office and not Dean. The financial crisis the city is in is all a result of his reckless spending at the end of his mayoral term in preparation for the governor run.
