Tennessee has only one black assistant coach?!

I want the best coach that can get results. I don't care if he's purple. Narrowing search credentials to only coaches whom are black is not only ignorant, but excludes all other coaches that may either be a better fit with our offensive and recruiting systems, or have better resumes with proven results.

This thread should be deleted immediately.

Good lord, are your feelings that hurt over a post that points out out staff is the only one in the SEC with less than 4 black coaches? Those are facts!
I don't care who Butch hires to replace JG as long as he's the right fit no matter his skin color. I simply stated there was a 99.9% chance he'd be black, imo.

I don't care if he's black, white or dipped in cherry glitter, the next RB coach better be able to recruit. For this position on the staff, the guy should be hired with 80% based on recruiting ability and 20% on X's and O's.

Well I understand what you mean. If you guys don't think young Black guys and their families don't look at this then you need a reality check. The 5* star kids that are from the inner city need someone he can relate to.

Slow down, mot much room for facts and common sense on this board. You'll soon be labeled.

You said this "the new running backs coach is black and should be for multiple reasons all of which are legit", right?

Then you're saying he should be black! I'd quit while you're still ahead pal.

The op kinda has a point to an extent. Black players relate more to black coaches. That's pretty much a fact. I'm saying for recruiting purposes here.

Obviously we want the best qualified, but I'd take a black coach over a white coach right now assuming they are close to being equally qualified. Let's face it. There are differences in culture; and a black coach, generally I would think, can relate more to black players. And we recruit more black players than white players. Just the way it is.

Not always true but more often than not. jmo. tifwiw...probably very little.

Yeah all those white coaches at Alabama and Notre Dame sure screwed up those schools chances of getting any good black players didn't they?....I guess it was all the black coaches doings huh?

Whenever I think the max level of stupidity has been reached, there is always somebody to prove me wrong. Good job OP!
