After last year's mediocre results, I have been holding back on CBJ, waiting to see how our Vols did in the 2nd half against OU and worried about a repeat performance of Oregon last year. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

Some of you here called that, some of you said things had changed on Rocky Top and the best was ahead of us. YOU WERE RIGHT. I was wrong to be skeptical.

The first half was tough to watch, but I didn't quit -- i cheered and watched thru it all. I believe that it all turned the corner exactly during the halftime interview with Heather Cox of ABC/ESPN. When Coach Jones smiled to her ******* question and said "That's between us".

Very proud of you CBJ, that's a CLASSY way to handle it. THEN the team came out in the 2nd half and played toe-to-toe against the #3 team in the country.

I'm sold -- i'm on the CBJ bandwagon. Can I get a seat before we beat Florida and there are 100,000 more on the bandwagon?

To the loyal sunshine pumpers, make room for 1 more.

To those loyal #NegaVols, it's time -- you should watch the replay and put down the stick. it's time to get on board....

Oh, and I am revising my season prediction from 6-6 to 8-4

I've talked to numerous OU fans who were impressed by our play and felt with a better o line this game was heading to a great finish. We got some bad breaks in the end zone twice. I think we showed we are heading in the right direction.

I just got this email from some OU friends of mine that I wanted to share here.

OU Boomer Sooner said:
Your defense played well and should only get better...saw some damn good athletes out there. The real difference in the game was the OU defense. Seemed like Worley was either pressured or hit on about every other snap...nearly impossible to establish any sort of rhythm under those circumstances.

If you guys have a QB lined up for next year, you could be pretty good. All the young lineman (on both sides of the ball) being thrown into the fire this year will be so much better after a years worth of experience.

See you in Knoxville this time next year. I'll stay in touch, but keep me in mind in regards to tickets.

WELCOME BACK to the "keeping it positive bandwagon." I agree this "loss" may be a real milestone for our rise back to the top! I want to temper your optimism just a little bit. The core of this team is freshman and freshman, as talented as they are, make freshman mistakes and still need to grow!

We will still continue to lose to good teams in the near future (this year and next) but we will surprise some good teams too! Georgia maybe but, at home, I want to see THIS TEAM DESTROY FLORIDA! Those arrogant ****** have been trash talking our program long enough! I am a real Gator Hater!

I still expect 6-6 or 7-5 realizing WE ARE BACK! IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL! GO VOLS!
:hi:

I forgot about Ole Miss. Damn.. 7-5 might be more realistic, but perhaps we jump up and bite somebody (UGA, USC) who doesn't expect it.

Score 13-7. Oklahoma fumbles. Big 12 replay crew would never overturn and did not. Take 7 points off Okies' score. 3rd and 2 inside the 5. Worley throws interception returned for touchdown. Add 7 to Okies' score and subtract 7 from Tennessee. Net +7 for Tennessee. Score 14-13. Does the rest of the game play differently? That's just how close we really were.

Personally, I think GA, USC and Ole MIss can be had. Whether we do them all at one time remains to be seen.

I think Stoops did all he could do to score as much as he could on us, But it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be. The way this team is coming together we will be back, That oline will get it together and Hurd will get stronger as the season goes on.

God please no more injuries!!

I think we have a legitimate chance in the rest of our SEC games, aside from Alabama and maybe Ole Miss. Those will be tough to win, even with Alabama coming to Neyland. I think we match up well with most everyone we play, and if our Defense continues to play like they have been or even improve, we'll be in every game.

Of the teams out there I think we jump up and bite, Ole Miss is at the top of that list...I am just not that impressed with them and by the time We get to play them this team will have gelled a bit more...I still think we can handle Florida and maybe South Carolina...My confidence is growing with this team every week.

I'm counting on Bo Wallace doing all he can to help us, don't even know if we need it.

Bammer is going to have all they can handle with the Gators D this coming weekend. I suspect Bammer will actually come out of that game really banged up, UF's D is for real, maybe one of the best in the country. That said Bammer should win, UF's offense is not up to par. I really think we match up well with everyone left on our schedule but Bammer and I threw up in my mouth little bit while contemplating writing it. Can we stay healthy? Will we improve on offense and special teams? If we do it could be the difference between 6-6 and a great unexpected season!

I feel after Saturdays game, we should be as to hang with everyone on our schedule. Were a few plays away from winning that game. We may not and probably shouldn't win most of them but we will show fight to the end and put a hurting (physically) on every team we play.

Alabama is going to have all they can handle on the third Saturday in October...at Neyland.

The one thing that has changed about this season in regards to the schedule is the lack of a path of least resistance with SECw teams. We used to be screwed playing bama every year. This year not so much.

I think the three best in the West are aTm, Auburn and Ole Miss. The worst?...depends on matchups. ARK looks real good so far and MissSt/bama for two games of three games. LSU is young, resiliant and improving but QB is still an issue.

We'll get a better idea of the SEC pecking order after Saturday with bama/Gators, MissSt/LSU, Aub/KanSt, ARK/NiLL, and USCe/Vandy (last two should be blowouts).

You sir are a good man. Takes a bit of grit to post that rather than hide like most negavols. :good!:

I take it that you don't have them in the Top 10 like the polls do?

IMO Missouri is the tougher game. I think we match up better with Ole Piss.
