Because it's not the same system or philosophy. Kiffin and Freeze are the closest similaritiesHeupel in some ways feels like our version of Steve Spurrier without the trash talk. His offenses seem to be puzzling the SEC.
Ironically teams have kind of run similar offenses in the past (Chad Morris at Arkansas and it was a disaster, Gus Malzahn at Auburn, Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, and Gary Pinkel at Missouri). However, the way Heupel does it seems to confuse teams even more.
In the game thread people kept complaining about it even after it worked. There are several clowns saying drives like that are going to cost us games (somehow).and for those who questioned the hurry up offense, how about the eight minute drive which sealed the win and scored points!
He was fired from that school. Knoxville is a better city. He has a great relationship with Danny White. The fans love them both, he has a ridiculous recruiting class coming in, he has all the facilities he needs and has said he's never seen anything like Tennessee football. He also has 3 years left on bus contract. So, I don't see him and this staff rebuilding Tennessee only to leave, ever, if the money is right and he keeps winning. That said, I could see it happening if he has a bad season and our fans become obnoxious.Until Heupel leaves for Oklahoma :/

Yeah we just had abnormally horrible coaching.9-10 wins isn't that high of a bar Tennessee just needed a capable head football coach.
