It's crazy to me that Grateful Dead's Tennessee Jed is not a huge song for the Vols played during games. Why is it not?! I think heard I've the Pride of the Southland play it before, but just can't believe it's not a household song for all Vols fan. Go Vols!

Good god that was awful.

Myself being a mountain bluegrass player, shine drinking, frog gigging, coon hunting redneck....disagree with you on the Beatles.

Meh, I always preferred the Stones. The Beatles were a bit "full of themselves". The Stones were always more of a "I'm gonna get drunk and steal your woman" kind of vibe.

If you're going to do Tennessee Jed, why not go for the OG? From the album Straight Out of Bugtussle:

To all you Dead haters, you should listen to ‘Brokedown Palace’ In my humble opinion, one of the best and moving songs to hear about a loved one leaving this world. Lost a damn fine Vol friend to cancer 10 years ago. He was a memphis native and loved the Vols and Grateful Dead. Some of his musician friends played this song at his funeral. It’s just plain beautiful. Makes me cry everytime I hear it. Miss you Styles, Grateful Vol.

People who don’t like the dead are plain vanilla. Not that that’s a bad thing, vanilla is great, but just because you have no creative bone in your body or ability to appreciate anything other than a 3 chord skynard song within the rock realm doesn’t mean that which you don’t understand sucks.

I have played guitar for 30+ years and listen to a vast array of music. While not my favorite band, I have a great deal of respect for what the Grateful Dead did. Dead and Co with Mayer at the helm is next level.

Tennessee Jed is in my tailgate playlist, for sure. Haters should watch a full show with an open mind.

And, obviously, I'm not a stoner nor eat acid.
