I wasn't sure which thread to place this, but I know there was a lot of speculation about how LSU got Reese and in general about the role of NIL in recruiting. I found this from an article today in which Reese said LSU was unique in that it already had a program to place to promote their athletes and NIL. I remember she also visited UT. Here is a paste from the article:
“When I came here on my visit, they had their own NIL program, and that was just something that I have never seen before, where they can help me brand myself, help me with taxes, things you really don’t learn in school,” she said on a recent episode of the Outta Pocket podcast.
LSU had the 3 of the top 10 NIL deals for all women athletes (#1 - Olivia Dunn - gymnast, #6 Flau'jae Johnson, and #9 Reese. All three women are valued way over $300,000. Reese is trademarking the "Bayou Barbee" logo for her own designs.
I am not thrilled with this NIL age we live in, but I hope that UT becomes a frontrunner in helping the Lady Vol players navigate this new NIL landscape. It is clear that the athletes need help in this area and will respond favorably to programs that specialize in it.

Excellent news! The continuity this brings is important.

When Powell signed last spring, she said what decided it for her was Kellie picking her up personally from the airport, and Jordan Walker being her host. Said it showed there would be no drama surrounding sharing the position. In my perfect dream world, Jaz just did the same for Wells.

KJH has an incredible retention rate. So far, lol.

I concur.....I also hope the offensive game plan has Justine run around some, cutting through the lane, anything but just standing there.....Not a big fan of the just go to the side and wait for a pass that rarely comes attack...

I know the general idea is to not clog the middle with cutters, but damn, it seems like such a waste to just run down and stand there....

She seemed to lose some interest in the game...Keep the girl energized...

She needs to keep watching Rickea and learning to get to the spots that work for her. I think there will be a big freshman-to-sophomore improvement for Justine. She likes the game and practices hard. She has a lot of the tools and now just needs to develop them.

YES, YES, YES! Someone posted on Twitter, a Katie Lou Samuelson highlight while at UCONN and it was noted how she was constantly moving and knowing when she gets to a certain spot, it’s catch and shoot. I think Justine is capable to have that type of impact on the game in the right system.

I just really don’t want to watch a lot of 1 on 1 basketball next year. Movement, cuts and EFFECTIVE screens!

Pat was demonstrative, but largely composed. Mulkey is over-the-top and melodramatic as hell. Every foul call, she's got that "someone just ran over my dog" shocked look on her face. She sulks and pouts and gestures and wheels around like a stage actor - and it's been obvious for years now that it's all an act she puts on for whatever reason.

Wasn't it the SEC tournament last year where Mulkey went nuts complaining to the refs, to the point she caused them to review a play (that was obviously not in LSU's favor), and while the officials were at the video review, she was caught winking at one of the LSU radio people with a smile on her face? Totally composed. All part of the act.

I know KM respects Pat and I think many Vol fans can respect that about her - but she is still a melodramatic sideshow out there. Again, Pat was forceful, but she was never a carnival barker.
