I don't get it. Do the players have to go through Terri Holder and/or the Lady Vol Boosther club to secure NIL deals and does the boosther club make money and then pay Rickea? Terry seems to like to take a lot of the credit for these deals. I would assume that Mercedes Reached out to Rickea, but would like some clarity on this.

Earl is the authority but I've been digging into this and was comfortable enough with it to contribute. My understanding is they don't have to go thru the LVBHC but it's probably a really good idea. I may have a polyanna view, but to me it seems like exactly the way NIL should be handled. Terri is kind of an agent for them, a clearinghouse for info and a connector with possible corporate and individual sponsors. The athletes sign with the BHC, they announced Jill had done so today, and the BHC reaches out on their behalf. The athletes in turn agree to do BHC events and adverts. Then of course they also have to do whatever publicity, etc the sponsor is paying for. So they actually have to work for the money and the BHC coordinates it all. No pay for play.

Cash donations to the BHC help stage events such as a painting night thing their having next week where Rickea, TK, Sara and Jill will eat, paint and smooze w the paying locals. Or dinners w donors, which I believe happened w Jordy and one of our own just the other night. So there's BHC staged opportunities for them as well as connections to outside the club ops. They also can get legal and tax advice etc.

Mercedes of Knox had an NIL deal w Hendon Hooker last fall so they are no stranger to the process. Already on the potential donor list. NIL Booster Club stuff has really taken off with Rickea for the obvious reason that good and good looking, esp for a female athlete, is very marketable, whatever the social implications of that are. Fortunately, Rickea seems to genuinely enjoy this stuff and by gosh it helped get her to stay. TK is a very active BHC participate, as is Sara. Terri deserves a sh*t ton of credit.

We'll see. I'm sure my social media director will alert me when RJ drops the vid. She'll have to alternate driving it w the Scat Pack she got use of from a car place in Michigan from a previous NIL. This young lady and her Mom know what they're doing, which is why she and Terri have hit it off so well. Exactly what Terri needed to help get things off the ground.

The purple car has gone back to the dealer and the Mercedes in the social media posts is her car to use for the next year.

When the LVBHC learned that her previous car endorsement was ending (basically a one year lease), Terri reached out to Mercedes of Knoxville and was able to arrange a similar deal. It never hurts to have a VFL that owns several luxury car dealerships!

JMO but if you see a top point guard come in and one is staying that played huge minutes you can see you are again number three. I think the decision was all hers for playing time and she better choose wisely and not get in the same position somewhere else.

I don't recall posting that because my comments have all been about taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility to get as much education as possible for free and stay in school because roster spots are limited in the W. You may be confusing me.

You remember I said that she came back and it was 99% because of the NIL which I was just messing with another poster and you replied it could have been for the education which could’ve been a part of the reason and I’m sure it was but you got to admit that NIL is truly a game changer

I’m still of the opinion this is graduate degree driven. Rickea is brilliant.
