Any idea what time? It's great our players are getting so much off season court time. This, RJ and Jewel doing USA tryouts, and the Europe trip gives this team quite a jump. Love to see it. (Long as no one gets hurt).https://www.youtube.com/@usabasketball/featured
The 3 player tourney starts today with Powell, Darby, Hollingshead and Striplin the Tennessee team. I don't have the exact link yet but it is supposed to be on Youtube at the USA site so we will see if we can see the games there later today.
I'm trying to find out right now. Sure it will be later for us as Colorado is a couple hours earlier.Any idea what time? It's great our players are getting so much off season court time. It would be cool, and a really good chance for them to bond and to play together.
I would say Reese, Betts, and Jackson will make the team. Morrow should make it as well. Four or five that have already been on the team will make it for sure.It would be cool, and a really good chance for them to bond and to play together.
I wonder if the schedule would rule them out of the Europe trip tho. The release says the tryouts are next week, then the team is back in June for training for July 1 start of play. The Europe trip is June 11-22 I believe, and KJH said they'd have a few practices before. Might be a tight squeeze and would have Rickea and Jewel on the court non stop throughout June and early July. What a head start on conditioning and what a chance to get a bunch of extra shots in. I'm down for all that.
Spear scored 93 of those threes, shooting 35%, but was a high-volume shooter, and Wells scored 65 threes, shooting 45%. Strickland had 39 threes, but at 33%. Tess dropped 70 and shot about 41% and Karolyn didn't shoot the three much, but when she did she was pretty successful at about 39%. We should have 4 legit players that can shoot the three next season. Wells, Darby, Spear, and Stiplin. Unless the rest of them improve a WHOLE lot, they should probably not be shooting the 3. Sara Has a nice stroke so I am surprised her 3 ball isn't a lot better than it is.Fun times ahead in TN... We SHOULD see our three point makes go up and it become a weapon (and not so much a bailout shot) this year. The three additions made the same amount of 3s that we did as a TEAM! This is going to open up some things and i am excited!
Over the past month, Harper has added a trio of players who tallied 197 three-pointers made between them last season. The Lady Vols hit 198 as a team in 2022-23, with returning players Tess Darby (70), Sara Puckett (26), Jasmine Powell (19), Rickea Jackson (16), Karoline Striplin (12), Jillian Hollingshead (2) and Kaiya Wynn (1) combining for 146 of those.
Strickland was a freshman her number should be up next year too. She hit 43% in her last 10 games. She wouldve been second on the team last yearSpear scored 93 of those threes, shooting 35%, but was a high-volume shooter, and Wells scored 65 threes, shooting 45%. Ace was just a Freshman when she shot her 3’s, I think you could add her to the group of legit 3 point shooters.Spear scored 93 of those threes, shooting 35%, but was a high-volume shooter, and Wells scored 65 threes, shooting 45%. Good luck Rickea! And I immediately sink into worry she's going to get injured, and that if she makes the team it might bump heads with the Europe trip. That's a sh*t ton of court time for her in the next couple of months. Work on that 3 pt shot! Doug Bruno is a very good coach, time under him would be valuable. But please God don't get hurt.
