Tennessee Lady Vol News

Looks like our 2024 player Kaniya Boyd is having quite a tournament in Texas.

People have been wanting an "ATHLETIC" guard and she seems to fit the bill. Impressive highlights. Loved the steal converted into a layup. We have already gone with her in 2025 class to the 2024 class. Perhaps she will really hit the books this last month and upgrade to the 2023 class.

Yes, we have her coming in 24 and then Nyla Brooks in 25' two athletic perimeter players who can do damage on both ends of the court.

Doesn't look like Tamari has taken time off from the weight room. If she is able to get her conditioning back to even the level it was two years ago, there will be very few if any that can push her around in the paint this year. This is what the Lady Vols were missing in the post this year. She towers over everyone and even makes Jill look small. That shoulder height is inpressive.

Can we get lucky and win a championship with them?

If this team plays defense like it did two years ago and builds its offense around Rickea Jackson and our post play, this teams chances will be as good as anyone. When you hold your opponents to a 32-33% shooting percentage and rebound the basketball, the chances of winning are very good. They have to have that defense back that Harper instilled those first couple years. Last years team was awful on the defensive end primarily due to having to change how they played defense because Tamari Key was not available. She is the difference maker on that end of the court.

I hope you’re right.

@Dak1219 you think she looks like she has been lifting? I dont. She looks.... I'll just say different. I am keeping her health issues in mind. Medication could be a factor.

I thought the same thing looks like she has some weight to get off afraid to say much lol
She will be a woman among girls this year in the post. Mark my words. One of the biggest challenges in post defense is moving the your opponent off the block and not allowing position. Who in the SEC will be able to do that with Tamari's frame? Anyone remember Venus Lacy or Ruth Riley in the post? It wasn't their overall speed and jumping ability. Nobody could move them. Tamari will be fine.
