Tennessee Lady Vol News

Just as unfair to fans as the other situation. SEC should consider that evidently they don't care.
Almost seems like they try to follow the recent strong teams to their home state for the tourney, but I’m throwing spaghetti at a wall tbh. I realize they schedule/contract these things years out. Maybe they get better financial deals by giving out 3-5 year contracts, you would hope that is the reason. The men’s tourney is locked into Nashville until 2030.

If none of the schools are complaining so be it. Cause that has to be true cause if they had enough schools in opposition then they would change to different venues more often not the same place. I figure fans of a lot of schools don't like it evidently the schools are all fine with it so I guess we'll keep it going. Not a big deal for Tennessee Greeneville or Nashville not that different in distance. Fans in Texas, A&M, Oklahoma, and MIssouri are the ones needing a lot of travel.

(In recent years, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, has become a frequent host, with the SEC announcing that the tournament will be held there through 2030. The 2025 SEC Tournament will mark the 12th time the event has been hosted at Bridgestone Arena)

As for the WBB tourney, I believe the state of Tenn has hosted 17 times previously…State of SC has hosted 7.

Hotlanta was the place of choice for the Men's tournament for many years.

I have to believe it’s more of a financial decision, the city hosting likely has offered the best deal to the conference and once they show they are capable they get extended at times.

I have never gone the route of a conspiracy theorist, though I do believe that recent success on the court adds a nudge to some of the decisions, maybe a bone 🦴 thrown occasionally? Who knows. I do know the attendance at Greenville has broken many records for the tourney, that has to play into it some.

If I’m note mistaken, on a side note, SC WBB broke the all time attendance mark for home games this year for NCAA games, over 17,200 per game, many will travel to Greenville.

Nashville but they need to move it to. Staying in the same place five or more years is just unfair to many of the fanbases. I think both tourneys should move around every season. To the western part of the conference. The central part and then the east and then rotate again. That way fans in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri don't have to travel to the East every year.
I agree about fairness but I am going to say people love to come here!
If you can’t have fun in Nashville, you can’t have fun.
Although if I get stuck behind one more pedal bar while trying to get somewhere downtown I am going to lose my mind!!

I live in Sevier County and population is 7 times less than Nashville. So if I can't stand Sevier County and it's population, I'm sure Nashville wouldn't give me a warm fuzzy either..

Really? No one’s talking about Vanderbilt beating LVs in the SEC Tournament today? I don’t see any thread about it. They said it was the first time ever that Vanderbilt has beaten the Lady Vols twice in a season.

I admit my enthusiasm for University of Tennessee sports was diminished after White fired Kellie, I haven’t watched most of the games. Plus, I think tradition is important, so want to see Tennessee teams playing in Orange and White. They have all the other hours of the day to wear other colors. Well, I see Kellie is an announcer now, I hope she does very well, and she wore an Orange jacket, good for her.

There used to be game threads, no longer, maybe I’m not the only one. Plus, I think tradition is important, so want to see Tennessee teams playing in Orange and White. there are game threads every single game with 1000s of comments. i think it’s just you😭

We held steady at #13 in the NET and Vandy moved up one spot to #21.

I would think Alabama's loss yesterday puts us back squarely ahead of them in the seeding battle. We're 4 spots ahead of them in the NET, 19 spots ahead of them in NET SOS, have one more Q1 win, one more Q2 win, and won the head-to-head. We both finished 6-4 down the stretch. Our main blemish is the Q4 loss to Georgia.

Ole Miss, probably comes down to how they perform today, but looks like they may be a bit ahead of us. We are equal in Q1 wins, we have 2 more Q2 wins, they have a Q3 loss and we have a Q4 loss, we're one spot ahead of them in the NET, and they're 4 spots ahead of us in NET SOS. They've gone 7-3 down the stretch, though we have the head-to-head win. Their 7-3 road record is better than our 5-4.

Bringing facts! Thank you. 🤗

What alternate unaffiliated locations with 15,000 seat capacity come to mind? Freedom Hall to far north, Memphis? Other????
