I can't claim to know what's going on. This is one of the weaker Florida teams in years and they're still around while others aren't. I can't explain it.

Karen isn't going anywhere. Her contract was just extended through the 2025 season.

Are you seriously comparing the Tennessee program to FSU right now? You know it is about much more than just losing today. You know it.

but this is funny Kregman. #2 Florida State (53-4) lost two at home today. Their season is done. Does that mean their coach is horrible too? Do they need new blood ? Of course not. It speaks as a counter to your argument that “coaching is all the more important.” If coaching was the be all / end all good coaches would never lose.

Looked to me like EE had better stuff today than Ashley. But, I'm sure Coach will answer whatever questions they ask her.

Feels like we are back in a Fulmer situation in about 2007-2008 situation. Hope we handle it better this time, than we did in November 2008.

My argument is exactly that - that it is about much more than just losing today. .. it’s about a program she helped build which is why she isn’t going anywhere until things get much worse.

Yeah, that wasn't one of the Lady Vols better teams either. Not enough offense weapons against strong pitching.

The culture does seem to be off in this program. You just don’t see the same excitement and energy that you see in other, more successful programs. A younger coach likely would bring more of that energy.

I’d like to know Weekly’s recruiting philosophy and what she values most in position players. It looks like she values fielding first and hitting second.

As for me, give me a great hitter/average fielder over the great fielder/average hitter all day long. It’s much easier to teach/develop fielding than hitting IMO. Also give me a player with good size and strength over a smaller/faster player, too.

Things can happen in games or years. FSU has been elite for a number of years battling Oklahoma. We gave not been in the CWS since 2015 and not gotten out of the regional two years in a row. If you believe the program is at a high point and all is well have at it. As a season ticket holder I am honest enough to say I expect more.

I can appreciate all of your passion for the sport and desire to see the program be successful. While we may be on opposite ends of the argument, the one thing remains that it will ultimately resolve itself with time. Cheers to better days and I‘ve enjoyed the hearty debate.

Good point....Many expect more and then there others that are 'Settlers'.....They are more supporters of the coach than the programs.

oh I don’t think the program is at a high point at all. I acknowledge the dissapointment and frustration. I just differ in ideology around if it’s time for Coach Weekly to go.

If you read my posts I have not called to fire her but it is time for the ship to be turned. If Karen can do that great and if not it is time to move on. I don’t think the weekend was well managed. Can she adapt we will see. I hope so.
