Tennessee @ Mississippi State (October 13, 2012)

Neither can Mississippi State.

Apparently MSU can't.

Ummm, right. Sorry but maybe while you are over in the East struggling we are in the West competing and playing tough and we have other teams in the West nervous to come play us and they try to call us a "trap game" because they are scared they might end up getting whooped. They wouldn't even be nervous to play y'all and they probably wouldn't even try to call y'all a "trap" game they would probably just chalk up the win. Of course I'm talking about SEC West stuff, something you wouldn't know anything about. Carry on little Vols.

Good points, all around

A " trap " game is used to describe a team you should beat but overlook cause you're more concerned with a real opponent. It's not a compliment.

Mississippi State is to college football as Carl Lewis is to singing.

Nobody is scared of Mississippi State, just the dump that is Starkville.

I mean I hate to be blunt and I respect y'all as human beings but I just can't wait to demolish y'all on the field. Some of y'all get a little angry because I don't sugar-coat like engie and I just tell it how it is. I understand your anger but you have to realize that the envy inside of you is coming from the truth that I speak. I just tell it how it is and the fact is we are a lot better than you and we get to prove it on our field in less than 2 months. Like my man Mullen says... We're not arrogant, we're just better than you... and that is the fact. We can't sit here and try to lie about facts. It is time to put the Vols in their place, and it is our turn to shine.

Hahahahaha I can't take this seriously...

This thread is a trainwreck... hijacking now...

Finally announced our contractor today and immediate groundbreaking on the stadium expansion. Here is the final look of this phase. Completion set for 2014 opener against Southern Miss.

Will only go to 61,337 in this phase... although the footings are being put in for phase 2 and 3. Will also include a full renovation of the west concourses(the remaining original parts of the 2nd oldest stadium in fbs). The endzone design allows for another 22 endzone skyboxes and upper deck for about 5000 to be added quickly. This has already been designed/engineered, and they are expecting to begin the process relatively quickly after the first phase(assuming our demand continues to climb how it currently is).

Between phase 1 and phase 2, we will include a narrow bowling on the other side, good for about 3000 additional seats. This will likely start in 2014 and take us to almost 65,000 for the 2015 season.

Phase 2 will eventually take us to about 71k. It is no Neyland, but is head and shoulders better than what we've become accustomed to...

and just for Billy...

Stricklin confirmed today that the new video board will be an identical twin to the one on the other side of the stadium, and they will run in stereo.

Looks like a great piece of engineering. Nothing's as pretty as Neyland Stadium, but I definitely wouldn't mind working on a design like that one. Looks like a real nice upgrade.

:eek:lol: what does MSU know about "SEC west stuff" since your coach hasn't beaten an SECw team except Ole Miss? In fact, Ole Miss has more SECw wins against teams not from MS since Mullen took over. You're like the Vandy of the west

a "trap" game is one sandwiched between 2 good teams where the opponent should be handled as long as the other isn't looking ahead. It's not something to brag about

Dang Bill you have opened my eyes son, there is no one better in the county then MSU. LONG LIVE MULLEN!

vs Alabama: 31-3, 30-10, 24-7 (85-20)
vs Auburn: 49-24, 17-14, 41-34 (107-72)
vs Arkansas: 42-21, 38-31, 44-17 (124-69)
vs LSU: 30-26, 29-7, 19-6 (78-39)

In 12 games, Mullen's MSU teams have only stayed within 10 points (meaning they had a reasonable shot of at least tying it late)... 4 times! That is beyond pathetic.

I'm not going to add anything.

You beat one team in the west last year. How is that competing? Please share one team who is nervous to play MSU.

this is how Mullen is "competing and playing tough" with those in the SECw not named Mississippi:

bama: 0-3
AU: 0-3
Ark: 0-3
LSU: 0-3

And since the East is inferior to the West, lets see how the Bulldogs have fared in the Mullen era of domination

Florida 1-1
Kentucky 3-0
Vanderbilt 1-0
Georgia 1-1
South Carolina 0-1

Well lets do the math y'all, Mullens powerhouse is 6-3 against the East in the east's worst 3 year stretch ever. 4 of those wins came against Vandy and Kentucky.

Mullen's overall SEC record y'all: 9-15. y'all

Wasn't Billy bragging that Miss St received more votes than Tennessee in the USA Today poll?

AP poll was released and Tennessee received 15 votes to Miss St's 1.

I believe Billy's logic was along the lines of Miss St being 7 times better because they received 21 votes to Tennessee's 3 in other poll. In that case, Tennessee is 15 times better and also, Miss State is equivalent to Northern Illinois and Louisiana Tech. They both received 1 vote as well.

I'm sure Billy week ignore it or dismiss this.
