Someone posted in another thread that their team is as young as ours everywhere but the trenches... 73 freshmen and sophomores or something like that.

73? They must have different recruiting rules out there or something.

They do, or did. We follow sec recruiting rules as far as how many per class and all that. The sec allowed aTm to sign I believe 38 or more their first class. Then they had to follow sec rules.

This is a very dangerous game for Oklahoma. I'd say that they are definitely deeper than Tennessee, and have an edge in experience, certainly. But your starters are close enough in talent level that if Oklahoma does not play its best and you catch a break or two, this could be a game that is not decided until the last drive.

Probably fair to be honest. Remember we cried foul last year when Oregon was a 28 point favorite, and they covered easily. I don't think Oklahoma beats us nearly as bad, but 21 doesn't seem like an unreasonable line with the orange shaded glasses off.

I kinda agree. Oregon was a bad matchup for our very slow defense last season. I feel alot better about this matchup with OU.

VA Tech played an over rated Ohio State team that would likely be only a 7 point favorite over the Vols on a neutral field. Oklahoma looks to be as advertised. I would take the Vols and 21 but straight up is unlikely..however we can hope and I will long after the end is inevitable.

Considering how we fared last year on the road versus a non conference opponent in Oregon I'd say 21 points is generous. That being said we have to go on the road and win these games to be in the discussions for NC and SEC championships.

I think it gets ugly. Not because UT isn't prepared, but simply because "Big Choke Bob" has a boner for the SEC losing lately.

He will go out of his way to humiliate UT. Hopefully the Vols stand strong and his punk azz.

This is my biggest concern as well. It was like night and day when we went on the road.

I will take a moral victory. Let's get out with no major injuries and keep the score reasonable.

A close game/moral victory, although people here will argue that it doesn't matter unless we win, will definitely help the Vols' current reputation and show to us and the nation that Tennessee is improving and on the way back.

I'd put a 100 dollars on us to cover that spread.

I wish I had your optimism. Sadly, I think OU covers it easily. The young kids will be exposed by a top 5 team. Hopefully we will learn a lot and use it to prepare for UF where we have the 12th man to help. [Yeh UGA is in between but I think our upset special will be in Knoxville this year]

This place was beside itself after the UGA game last season. Keeping it close, on the road against OU...you'd think UT won the Super Bowl.

Ouch.

Luckily, the lines lost all credibility for me by opening Georgia as a 2.5 favorite over South Carolina

Based on what I've see from us on the line of scrimmage (both OL and DL), I'll take Oklahoma to cover the 21 pts. with incredible ease. Wish that wasn't the case, but it is.
