Tennessee QB Tyler Bray faces important NFL decision...

It seemed like this year every drive was crucial to winning or losing because our defense was soo bad, it sends shockwaves through everyone involved with the offense. I felt like Cheney often called plays almost out of desperation because every drive had to be a score in order to win. That kind of pressure has consequences because it builds and builds. We also didn't adjust well in the 2nd half on both sides of the ball.

I see the question marks in Brays game and he honestly needs one more year under the right coach but people who put the blame mostly on Bray I don't think understand the amount of pressure that was on that kid's shoulders this year, and it showed in his body languag,e on the field and off the field. People need to lay off the kid...

I hope he returns because I think he'll be a better QB under a better coach. And if the defense improves drastically, watch out.

Yes. Was decent vs Vanderbilt, but short of that he's been pretty much pathetic in every game he's played in. Doesn't look like he's capable of facing the SEC.

True Fr against Bama, LSU, SC and Arky with no run game......you're a football guru for sure

Players with the most talent aren't always the best for the team. When you look at other QB's on SEC teams, they know how to manage the game, make per-snap reads, and they never quit. Most of them have an amazing work ethic on the field and in the film room. Bray has great potential and talent but that's not enough and that isn't just coaching. Some players feel that their talent is enough...and Bray feels that his arm is so good that he can make any pass, so he often misses the easy pass that will better manage the game/drive.

I also agree that Bray throws every ball like he's trying to break a receivers hand. I never see him throw with the same touch as some other QB's on a consistent basis.

I think he has a great arm, no leadership, no work ethic, and not enough resilience. Some kids are born with the "clutch" gene and some teams have to out score opponents all the time to win. With that being said, I'm not that high on Tyler Bray and I've wanted to see Woorley get more snaps since the GA game.

Lastly I'll say, the defense has been good in spurts. They have shut teams down for 5-9 possessions in a row and the offense never seems to take advantage of it. No our defense isn't great or even good, but you can say the same about our offense in clutch time.

He can make 3-6th round on raw talent but he need polishing and to work on several deficiencies such as handling the pressure in big games, developing leadership/attitude, turnovers and learning how to scramble better.

Same for Hunter, needs to work on drops, focus-he sometimes disappears in games.

CP could use the work at Reciever too especially on running routes, but I fear his grades will lead into the NFL sooner rather than later.

Most plays have a long route and an intermediate route. Bray to often looked for the long one. I guess you can blame CJC. But to me tbe qb makes that decision. As far as pressure, that is what the NFL is. If he cant handle these UT wackjob fans, good luck playing in the league. Just don't see him anywhere near being an NFL ready qb. And that feeling is based in his maturity level and performance on the field. He is far from what a number one pick at qb is.

There is not a throw that bray cannot make. People said it when he came out of high school and they say it now. The quarterback play was not the problem this year and if you believe it to be then I hope your children are born with mullets. Bray would have had to be literally perfect in every game this year to give the team a chance, and if people are going to jump down a student athletes throat for not being perfect then this board needs to be shut down.

Unless it involves beer bottles. lol

Bray displays bad footwork in the pocket. Sloppy mechanics and a terrible attitude. Cam Newton minus the running skills and the NFL body to take hits.

Aaron Murray leads the nation in pass efficiency. I wonder where this UT team could have been if we could have sustained drives, ate up some play clock, and reduced the amount I time our defensive unit had to be on the field.

Tyler is easily 1 year away but he is "mentally" even more behind his SEC peers.

I think if he takes the job, Gruden will be enough to keep Bray here for his senior year.

As bad as he's been at times this year, he's still better than Worley and Peterman.

That's cool. Hope he gets use to holding a clipboard if he makes it a final roster.

I really don't care if Bray leaves.

If we move on to the Worley/Peterman era that's just fine with me.

Worley will be a Junior next year and all the extra work and reps he'll get will only make him much better for the 2 years he can start.

If Bray stays then Worley or Peterman or both just might transfer out and we'll be in a really bad situation if Bray gets hurt again with only a true Freshman as his backup.

VFL...GBO!!!

What?

I don't think he's ready for the NFL either. But It just seemed like everything fell on Bray this year, he didn't have any help fromthe defense. oh, and I wasnt meaning fan pressure at all. I was simply saying the offense was completely based on him which adds up to a lot of pressure to score. With a decent defense I think he'd actually do better. Oh, And our running game didn't really take much pressure off either. He may not be any good at the next level, when he eventually leaves , I don't know. But at least in the NFL he'll have coaches who can help him developed and he might benefit from not having to be the man all the time. With a good coach one more year could make a lot of difference maturity wise and developmentally. I guess we'll see.
