Tennessee Ranked #7 (8th seed) in the CFP Rankings

Or they've peaked too early and are about to come back down to earth. You can't overlook how bad they looked early on just like how you can't overlook how good they've looked recently. The truth of who they are probably lies in-between. That's why it's always best to peak late in the season. It's why I've been unconcerned with our mid-season struggles. All it's meant to me if we're set to peak late.

They have over a dozen first year transfers starting. They aren't peaking too early. Lol.

Indiana I feel we could blow out. I have been preaching to not overlook anyone all season, but I have a gut feeling I’m not worried about them at all. Not sure why. Just not any matchups that worry me. Oregon on the other hand.. that would be interesting. I think our line play would be too much for them, but their overall speed and talent would be interesting to watch neutralize that.

SEC bias works both ways. However, if Indiana played anyone outside of Georgia, I’d bet them to cover. That includes the Vols. They are good and will give OSU fits in Columbus.

Then start putting your money where your mouth is cause Indiana's about to be a sizeable dog at Ohio State. If you are right then you'll make a lot of money.

I'll continue to bet on the side of talent and history. Gimme the teams with the 5-stars and a track record of success over a team of upstart 3-stars.

Peaking has nothing to do with experience. It's about the fact it's hard to maintain a high level of play over a long period of time. Even the best college football teams of all-time don't blow out every opponent they play all season. Usually teams hit hot streaks and cold streaks. To me it's better to hit your hot streak at the end rather than at the start or in Oregon's case in the middle of the year. 2014 Ohio State is a good example of this. They didn't hit their stride until the end of the year and rode that hot streak to a natty.

How are they undefeated with nothing to lose? IMO they have just as much to lose as every other playoff contender. They wont be sneaking up on anyone if they make it in, but I'm looking forward to seeing if teams elevate the level play come playoffs like in the NFL. I won't bash their schedule but it appears they aren't battle tested and I believe Tenn would blow them out in Neyland. Respectfully 🍊🍊🍊
They have already far exceeded program expectations for year 1 under Curt Cignetti. They are way ahead of schedule. They have nothing to lose in that there is no pressure to win, while some other programs do expect to win. It's like playing the no-name cinderella team in March Madness who is on a hot shooting streak and has already won a game or two.

And as much as I want to believe in our Vols. They haven't blown anyone of note out of the water like Indianna has. Indianna has both a top scoring offense and defense.

At the end of the day I think it will be a moot point. I expect IU to finish out the season well and be slotted higher than Penn State.

Cinderella runs don't happen in football for a reason. At the end of the day it's a physical sport won and lost at the line of scrimmage. Big strong athletes don't grow on trees. They're rare to find which is why the same teams win every year. It's not like college basketball where hot shooting can take you on a cinderella run in March. We're built to win in January. Georgia is built to win in January. Ohio State is built to win in January. I highly doubt Indiana has recruited well enough along the lines of scrimmage to compete against the big boys. If they do I'll give them credit. But you're essentially hoping they do something that is completely unprecedented.

Indiana runs their stuff and executes it like the coach would like almost every time. To beat them you have to out execute them and be more physical. Good luck. Winning is never a fluke. The disrespect that the average Joe has for winners today is highly alarming. Highly. Not sure where it came from. Guess it's that new millennial-woke **** going around....
Absolutely.
Anybody that watches them can tell they’re a physical team.
Their recruiting footprint is interesting as well. A lot of Virginia kids and Florida kids on that Indiana team.

They have a very tough offensive scheme that’s hard to defend because the QB doesn’t hold the ball long. Their skill players aren’t burners but they have quickness and fight hard after contact.
RBs run hard. Defense hits hard.

I absolutely think they will beat Ohio State because they’re soft.

We'll see when they play Ohio State. If they get slapped around then they are who we thought they were. If they push Ohio State I'll be the first to say they're for real and a problem come the playoffs. I'm just not gonna crown them for body bagging the 103rd hardest schedule in college football.

Imagine if we played the Kent State's of the world every week. We'd probably look like the 2001 Miami Hurricanes every week.
That’s absolutely ridiculous.
They’ve destroyed Nebraska, Maryland, UCLA,.
Beat Washington with their back up QB. Each of those teams would destroy Kent State.

be for real man….

Nico needs to continue his improvement over the past two games. WRs have to hold on to the ball. The defense needs to do its things

Tennessee hitting on all cylinders beat Indiana 30-21…

Tennessee how it was against Arkansas losses 35-14.

Their offense can move against any defense because of their quick passing game and quick hit run game.
Their defense gets after the QB and tackles well in the open field.

We need to be near peak form to beat them. And not have drops and Omar Norman-Lott crawling around the opposing backfield taking out legs after the play is over 😂.

People don’t really respect because they’re Indiana. I see a nightmare throwback team that just wants it more consistently than the other team.

And what I was pointing out to you is Ohio State, with its roster full of 5 stars almost lost to Nebraska, barely winning by 4 points. Indiana (with all of its 3 stars) beat Nebraska by 49 points. The games to this point show that when an inferior team plays Ohio St, LSU, Oregon and Penn state, they do better against each one of them than they do against Indiana. I am not sure there is any evidence to say that Arkansas is any better than Washington, Nebraska or UCLA, which Indiana handled very easily.
Using Nebraska as a benchmark is asinine. They are beyond a hot mess this year. Rhule just brought in in 2 (yes, 2) “consultants” to figure out what is going on this late in the season.

There hasn't really been an opportunity for a cinderalla team to make a run with the previous playoff format. Now, with the ned 12 team structure, I think its possible to see some upsets. We see top 25 upsets all the time. Additionally, with the injection of talent that is being added through the transfer portal, there is more competitive balance in the top 25 and a chance for those cinderella teams to emerge. Sure, it may seem unprecedented when comparing to way things were previously done, but it's a new day of college football and I wouldn't write anything off.

Depends on what we mean by a cinderalla. Cincinnati making the playoffs of Boise winning the Feista bowl would count as cinderallas to me....
I think it will be like basketball, you will get some upsets but at the end of the day the blue bloods will still be the ones winning titles.

Guess you don't get hyperbole. I was obviously exaggerating but my point still stands. If you gave half the SEC their schedule they too would be undefeated. Let's see them not get blown out by Ohio State before crowning them. If they get blown out at Ohio State will you shut up about them?

It's not a cinderella run if you can win at the lines of scrimmage and that's the only way you can win the national title in football. I highly doubt a team that does recruit at a high level will ever be able to accumulate the talent and depth necessary on the offensive and defensive lines to win the 4 playoff games now needed to win the national title.
