Tennessee requests 30 day extension

I hope the NCAA isn't thinking of saying Tennessee can't go to a Bowl Game this season and or next Season.
I think we would already know if they were. Plus we got rid of all the idiotic coaches who were involved so I don’t see any reason to punish those that had nothing to do with it

I always tend to think of the worst case scenario, just a habit. So, this feels like they're asking for an extension because they fear the punishment could be a bowl ban, and if they push their response 30 more days, the NCAA works so slow that it won't impact us getting banned from the post-season this year because it will be too late. Who knows though. It could literally mean nothing.

Every time I forget this garbage hangs over our head it pops up out of the blue.
Sounds a bit like Clemson 1981 the NCAA didn't put Clemson on a 1982-1984 NCAA Probation with no bowl games or television until after they went to the Orange Bowl agaInst Nebraska.

That's not how this feels to me.

This feels to me more like the legal firm hired by UT is milking it for all they can get. They asked UT to ask for an extension. More billable hours, you see.

Now, what they said to UT to make UT agree, I don't know. But one thing is for sure: lawyers almost always suck. And that's when they're on your side.

Nothing to worry about in this, I don't think. Other than lawyers suck.

Go Vols!

Revoke those 3 wins and be done with it

Sadly, if W revocations are in the cards, it'll be a lot more than 3. It'll probably be the entire 2019 and 2020 seasons. So 8 + 3 = 11 wins vacated. Because the investigaion revealed the payoffs started as early as September 2018. Which means the kids being paid were on the team for both 2019 and 2020. And some of the lads who suspiciously left with Pruitt, they played in every single one of those games.

I swear the media and others love raining on our parade. It’s always a negative article being published when one of our teams is in the middle of a special season. 😆[/QUOTE

Unfortunately journalists don’t hide articles for months outside China. Typically they report events when they happen.

Before this, when has ANY school gotten rid of ALL coaches involved and ALL student athletes involved?

Heck the LSU coach was on a recording and it mentioned the athlete by name…….and LSU kept both.

I could see “something” happening. However there should never be a bowl ban or really even scholarship reductions in this situation…….because of everything Tennessee did.

Scholarship reductions probably.
