Wondering how much the split grip has thrown hitters off.Starting to look a lot like last season when no one could hit a lick. Hard to understand how Donihoo, Milloy, Puni, and couple others could all go into a slump at the same time. Plus why are they suddenly swinging at so many bad pitches like they have never played softball before. We cost ourselves a few walks yesterday she was not throwing in the zone very often. At this stage in their softball careers our players should be able to determine a lot about a pitcher by their second at bat and they surely should know the difference between a close pitch and one unhittable.
Were hitting better pitchers than they have most of the season so don't know if that is a problem suddenly.
Willing to try anything different to hit again. Looks like were still swinging at a lot of bad pitches yesterday. They keep the ball low and inside a lot have to be patient for the right pitch.True, like with Pickens…more film out on hitters, different ways to attack hitters. Softball is always peaks and valleys, just not used to seeing this many kids split grip in one year.
