Tennessee Softball 2023

Just watched SEC Now video that has Coffel-1, Wallace-2, and Mosley-3 as SEC POY leaders. Am I missing something??? I’ll take our CF over all of them and it’s not even a thought.
Love Kiki too but I feel like she’s cooled off a bit as of late in SEC play but I’m sure she’ll pick it back up soon

Hopefully her last 12 SEC regular season games this year are memorable and brings her back into the conversation. But if there are 12 of us choosing up sides from SEC players only and I have first pick, it’s going to be Kiki.

No way you can have players with their teams sitting around.500 in conference play. SEC POY should go to players that are leading their teams to wins and not stat compiling on a bad team. If Tennessee finishes 1 or 2 in conference play it’s got to go to Rodgers at #1 and Kiki at #2 if she finishes as the HR leader. Without Rodgers we could easily be at the bottom of the standings. That’s how you pick the POY, what impact that player has to their team and how is the team preforming. To rank Wallace and Coffel ahead of anyone in Tennessee or Georgia is laughable. Hopefully the portal treats us good this summer because we have big shoes to replace in Rodgers.

Just thinking about our offense people we must get going are Donnihoo obviously but Puni needs to get going. G will come and go but get some big hits but Puni needs to be consistent cause she has the talent to do so.
I think that we got ruined by Puni last year . She has not hit near as much and near as hard this go round. Would never say hitting coachs fault but something has messed her up. Donn has to hit .300 for us and play up one step on the field!!

We are all bummed by our two losses to Baylor. But here is the silver lining, by virtue of GA’s loss tonight, the Lady Vols are back in 1st Place. Let’s go get Va Tech and then it’s 12 games to decide the SEC. To piggyback on some others, we basically have 7 bats with Katie showing signs, bottom line is they all need to be consistent: Mackenzie, Zaida, G, all of them. A regular season championship is within their grasp. Gotta hit their way to it.

Were in first place in the SEC and don't get to play Georgia which is disappointing as we could settle it all in a series with them. With all but four teams in the SEC with six losses already and another with five. It looks like it is going to be a race for the title between Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky.

We need to win all we can, but the SEC games are huge for me. Love to have that regular season title.

There’s been a lot of talk about the teams hitting this year, was just curious how they have been matching up over the years.

Using batting average to make an argument about hitting is ridiculous

You also had Aubrey Leach, statistically one of the highest average hitters in program history propping up the 2018 and 2019 numbers.

As someone else mentioned, batting average doesn’t tell the whole story, OPS, OBP, runs and extra base hits all play a role in comparison.
