Tennessee Softball 2023

Now that it is official I will share some tidbits. Remember Lair's bunt single that help win the Kentucky game? That was all her and the coaches were mad at her for doing it. I sit behind the parents so you can guess where that comes from. I was completely wrong in that I thought they wanted her to slap more but that was her wanting to do it. I guess in travel and high school she was really good at it and she still thinks she is but the problem with that as with Brock if you no longer have the speed slapping really doesn't work. Mother and family seem like great people. Their view of her is from her younger days and not what she is now. She without injuries is still a good hitter but not the type that best fits her now. Sad to see her go but not overly surprised.

I can understand the coaches not being pleased with the bunt decision if I recall that bunt was with 2 outs. I loved her swagger and energy, but I do think that as a younger player she was amazing. Not to say she isn’t a great player now, but I do agree injuries appeared to hold her back.

Remember too that softball only has 12 scholarships for 24 players so it has to be divided. She's also from Cali. It could be a financial decision as well. Loved watching Lair play though. Her swagger was fun!

Definitely a changed player by the injuries and body maturing. People I respect in So Cal raved about her speed with the Angels and just the way she played was on another level.

Football stadium upgrades and baseball upgrades which is much needed but so is Sherri Parker stadium. Any rumors or plans for softball upgrades? Wouldn’t Title IV be in play for softball upgrades?

There will be a major announcement next year. They’re planning a new clubhouse first, with hitting and pitching facilities, then they’ll get to work on the stadium. Likely a total overhaul.

The truth is the original design showed a lack of forethought and vision. The whole set up was done in haste.

At least four, maybe more prospects (2025 & 2026) from TN Mojo 2025 Gregory have attended prospect camps with Lady Vols. After being 2022 14U Power Pool Champion at the Colorado Sparkler, Mojo Gregory is 2023 16U Supplemental Power Pool Champion with a record of 10-0-1 for the tournament.

Texas Riptide was the 14u Power Pool Champion last year.

Guessing there was more than one pool, as 16u has another pool ranked higher.
There is only one National Power Pool per age group. The team you are referencing was in the same pool as Texas Riptide. They are a good team for sure, but didn't win it last year.

Virginia Unity Johnson/Ross has some TN high school girls on the roster. Looks like they are 2023 16u National Power Pool Champion at Colorado Sparkler.

They repping 2 of our Eagleville High School players! 💪 Also got a player from Westview and Waverly. Another that used to be somewhere in Lincoln County. Not sure where she is now.
