They needed offense and she can supply it. Impressive in the regional, and she didin't wind up at OU which is always a bonus.
More in line with smaller schools/JUCO, her stats don’t jump out as too impressiveGood uncommitted 2024 LHP at TN 4A state champ Green Hill. Plays for Hotshots National Atlanta 18u with 1.4 e.r.a. per twitter. Time approaching for 2025 official public scholarship offers.
Olivia Underwood (hers was fall Freshman season) believe hers was from high school. Reinjured shortly after being released. And Lair after last season causing her to miss fall.Looks like Puni had surgery recently, If my memory serves me right we have had 5 players on the roster this past year that have had to get surgery, Donihoo, Mosley, Keene, Pannell, and Puni. Im going to need to know why it seems like we have so many injuries every year
If this was a Major League Baseball team the whole strength and conditioning with the training staff would be all fired. Toooo many every year needing surgery compared to any other college teams. Got to be related to the strength and conditioning with the training program the softball team are doing. That needs to be revisited asap. Makes no sense we are have more shoulder surgeries than baseball teams.
Serious question, Majors. What do you mean by overuse? Playing too many games at an early age? None of those mentioned are pitchers and I am just wondering. Thanks.Something to be said for the numbers for sure. I’d say a good portion already have a diminutive tear when they arrive and played through the discomfort. Possibly got checked out and was told it’s torn and given options. Then some happen like Pannell on a swing to the opposite arm. Weak scaps/shoulder imbalance and overuse early need to be addressed at the youth level.
Too much too early. Early on position players tend to not train to throw properly…they just throw and throw as the training. Practice, games etc. Pitchers as they get older do more bands, mobility work as well as shoulder/scapula work to stabilize the shoulder/rotator cuff. That’s why I said many times a kid has a torn labrum before they arrive to college….that catching and grinding they’ve alway joked about was tear/fray. When my daughter had hers years ago, her doctor said if they scanned her team majority would have some sort of tear.Serious question, Majors. What do you mean by overuse? Keene had one prior to her arriving to Tennessee. What do you mean in shape? Typically you don’t get cleared until a full 7 months to be 100% cleared by their doctors. I’m sure she was doing benchmark work in her throw plan…it’s not a quick fix procedure.Which the same girls are playing on the same teams and at the same tournaments at the youth level so that doesn’t explain why Tennessee are having so many injuries every year. You can’t tell me Tennessee is the only school recruiting injured players. There’s got to be a reason why they are getting hurt over other schools. They are doing something different than other schools which are causing the injuries. There’s no reason the training staff shouldn’t had Lair in softball shape when the season started last year. That right there is enough to question things. Guess we’ll see where Pannell, Keene and Puni are when the season starts.
