Was that a pinch runner i cant rememberYes, I'm sure that our pinch-runner who was strangely going back to first on a ball hit high and deep to right-center will have heard about her
fundamental mistake. It is a bit worrisome to see that sort of mental error from someone who's played a lot of softball.
At the risk of looking like an idiot whats this in reference to?
Perhaps it wasn't necessarily a mental error. Since ball was hit to right field the runner on 2nd was tagging up. Because she was tagging up the runner on 1st could do so also, in a situation where the RF would shoot 3 instead of going to 2nd. That wouldn't be how I would necessarily play it defensively, but that is a possibility.Yes, I'm sure that our pinch-runner who was strangely going back to first on a ball hit high and deep to right-center will have heard about her

I guess you could also consider that G the player that hit the ball has to make sure the runner is moving ahead of her even if she has to stop short of first base. She can see the player better than the player can see her need to pay attention to what the runner in front is doing. It cost G her fourth homer of the season sad to see.Seen this replay several times now and the pinch runner did leave he base on the hit but she either thought the RF was going to catch the ball and was running back to first to tag (it did look like RF had a chance) or the 1st base coach was telling the runner to come back. You couldn't see the 1st base coach on the replay. Doesn't matter now as we won anyway. I'm sure Karen has addressed that already.
