Very few freshmen start out well hitting in college. However, people are comparing her to Gregg and Shipman defensively. Gregg was a good hitter her freshman year that became an elite hitter later on. Shipman wasn't a great hitter her freshman year but she was injured.

Defensively she is not close to Shipman.

Gregg wasn't really that good.

Yes, it will be interesting to see for how long Weekly sticks with Faw. One hit in 21 games (18 starts) equals....yikes. I'm sure her hitting
will come 'round at some point--but it may not be this year. Weekly spent a lot of time before the season talking her up as a potential
start and probably doesn't want to lose face if she sits her.

She started out rough has been a lot better last ten games. Most of those errors came in the early games.

Pickens has pitched better than anyone could have expected this year. If Pickens and Payton can stay healthy there’s no reason we don’t repeat. Best pitching combo in the SEC!!!!

I'm really not seeing a difference between pitches last year and now except the umpires seem to be actually calling the strikes instead of sitting on their thumbs and rotating.
