Very glad we have both Payton and Karlyn. When one has an off game, they can play off each other and ease the burden on the other. Most teams don't have that.Payton is such a competitor. I love to watch her pitch. Once she gets her rhythm she is hard to beat.
Yes, Karlyn was charged with an earned run. We have to accept it but that was pretty weak officiating.
7-0 SEC.
We stand on business!
With the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to SEC softball next season, I think it's time the SEC office considered changing the format of the SEC schedule. They could go to having each SEC team play each other in a two-game series instead of the current threee-game series. Since Vanderbilt doesn't play softball and not counting oneself, that leaves 14 teams that one could possibly play next season. The current 3 times 8 teams format where you rotate teams in every couple years is not as fair and equitable as playing every team in the SEC twice. That would be a total of 28 SEC games compared to the current 24 games. Some people would say wait that could possibly add 4 more losses to our record instead of playing cupcake out-of-conference teams. Playing 28 SEC games would strengthen everyone's RPI since you would have to play Texas and Oklahoma. And it would also increase the chances of putting more losses on those two which would be good for the rest of the conference. This current policy of not playing everyone in the conference is not a true indicator of who is the true conference champion. It's simply who gets the more beneficial schedule. The conference has the chance to change that before next season. I'm sure it would take the consensus of the coaches and probably the AD's in order to approve it but I hope it gets done. Currently a normal weekend you play Friday, Saturday and Sunday. How would you structure the 2 game series? Yeah, money will determine it all. I like the idea. What if still 24 games with 2 off years, still one every 7 years. (aphasia explanation)Currently a normal weekend you play Friday, Saturday and Sunday. How would you structure the 2 game series? What days of the week?
