Seems about right if i am not mistaken they have only played 1 top 10 team all year and lost granted it was to oklahoma. Are they good? Yes, but I dont think they have played and won enough against good teams to be able to justify them being a top 5 team. Up to this point they have played 23 non conference games, and 3 of them were ranked/receiving votes (2-1 record). We have played 24 non conference games, 7 of them are ranked and/or receiving votes (4-3 record). Granted a lot of other factors but imo i don’t think Duke deserves to be able to be ahead of us in the polls

I think you start Payton friday, coming off a series where she was lights out and created momentum for the offense that’s what we are going to need. Also i’m sure state is preparing for pickens on friday and it’ll be a good change IMO

It’s a good problem to have. I could see either way…keep it going with your Friday/Sun or go Payton for the energy provided. Personally, believe Karen will stay with the weekend rotation.

I understand not many people were fans of the saturday decision to start charli, but in hindsight it wasn’t bad for many reason. 1) you give your 3rd option a chance to start a big game with a ton of fans 2) an opener isn’t bad considering charli is a once through the order type of pitcher and it was hopeful she would give you 2-3 innings and then payton could come in the back half and finish it 3) if payton did get into trouble then either you put charli in and risk her giving up runs late in the game or bringing in KP knowing karen was going to throw her the next day as well. at least if charli gave up runs early we had the offense to catch up (on paper, walters shut us down & couldn’t make adjustments)

First inning went smooth, second inning got away. Had she got through the second inning it looks like a good move. Still left 5 on base and could have captured the lead and win.

Sorry , but I completely disagree. Playing #3 team in the country is not the time. A sweep of Georgia would have been huge. Getting Orsini time on the mound is fine. But it wasn't the time and place.

My daughter plays on the HS team with her.Very smart base runner with speed. Has great game knowledge and instincts. The kid has been a joy to watch. All she knows is hustle . She is a visible leader with the way she runs on and off the field. Mom and Dad are good people. No diva attitude. Just a hard nose player.
