The break we caught was our midweek game on Wednesday got rained out against one of those "good" non conference teams like South Alabama..... giving Mowatt 4 days to get on Pickens' tape. Worked.

Tennessee might win the next 2 games, but that's ok.... we just wanna get into hosting position feeling like our stadium gets loud in May. You want the SEC title.

Go to Kim Caldwell - Rookie Coach of the Year thread and you can see her throw out the first pitch at the baseball game tonight. Hopefully she does the same for the Lady Vols against LSU in Knoxville.

She only played last season at Tech and was enrolled at Tennessee as a student. She’s not redshirting and basically you could say TN pulled her out of the portal.

how is that quote remotely blaming the players? i think that quote encompasses the players and the staff. you grasp at straws.

Just a bad game all the way around. But guess what? It happens. Have to flush it and move on to the next game. Hopefully, the team doesn't let today carry over to tomorrow. Still a good team. Still in first place. Play like this the rest of the weekend and it's a different discussion. When they go out there tomorrow, the score is 0-0. They need to play like it.

Probably alone in the way we played but not alone in that FL, GA, and LSU also lost. Good teams have short memories though. Need to start paying a little attention to Arkansas and Ta&m, they are up there in the standings. We need to win each series to be champs. I think it could be a 3-4 team race heading into the KY series. But we are in first place tonight and need to win to stay there. Good games Sat & Sun and we’ll all feel a lot better.

No hate here, just a Tennessee fan. We can’t hold Kelllie to a different standard when we want the same results in softball. But you are ok when a coach throws in the towel early in a game and doesn’t fight for her team!! I was a small college AD for years and as a coach you got to make adjustments for every series. No reason we should’ve been out coached by Miss State last night. If Sophie didn’t hit that HR last weekend we lose the series against GA and was out coached. Baseball and Softball are about making adjustments and if you don’t or don’t make the right ones this is what happens. And you are crazy to tell me there’s nothing wrong with Pickens, she’s been pulled the last 2 games!!! Just saying…. That game wasn’t over until Karen threw in the towel. If a coach wants there team to play for them at some point a coach or coaches have to own there decisions and it’s not always the players fault.

Please let me know what adjustments the coaching staff made before this series or during the game??? FYI Miss State found something on the scouting report and jumped on us…

I’ll fill you in what they were ready for: Pickens all year has thrown hard in and on Offense we have to take strikes until we are behind in the count. Miss States adjustments were hitters were off the plate and expiating it hard and in. Why do you think GA and Miss State hit us so well. And the last 2 weeks we have had tons of K’s because they all know this, that we are taking gut pitches and they will continue to throw them until we start swinging early in the count. But when they are behind in the count we have been killed the last 2 weeks with change ups because it makes it a guessing game now with 2 strikes. The book is out on our team, it’s time to make adjustments. Just saying with no hate JMO
