Tennessee Softball 2024

OKL always has a lineup of hitters that hit all season long every season. If they had slumps it wasn't enough to effect them. That was always something I noted. And yes they usually had the best pitchers and fielding but they hardly ever lost games due to lack of scoring. So Karen needs to find out what's in the water they drink.
It’s a combination of recruiting and batting coach

Maybe so, but your game summary is just dumb. There is a thing called “execution” in sports. And our hitters failed mightily at it this weekend
Didn't just start in this series has been going on for over a month now. We did lose in the SEC Tourney to LSU 1 to 0 and we have consistently had many games where we either lost 2 to 1 or 1 to 0 or won by those scores. I was certainly worried about the hitting going into the Super Regional and it proved to be true. Teams started the season quite well and as it progressed hitters disappeared and no one seemed to be able to correct the problem.

Bama has decent pitching, but when they run into teams like Oklahoma, UCLA, Texas, and others they are going to be scored on and expect they will be eliminated quite soon. Bama doesn't score that much either so Tennessee was the ideal team for them to play where one or two runs or a bunch of mistakes and a homerun would win the game.

My Eyes, My thoughts. Need no therapy...Coached for 30 years.
No, I concur on his therapy stance and that is based on my 50 year college fan analysis career. Just one of the categories in the EVERY TEAM HAS THEM subset of self identified fans. Denial is a key factor in most of those.

Disgusted with the whole lot. Poorly coached and lack of desire to get the job done. Golden Opportunity lost by lack of effort from all involved.
Lack of effort? So you think they were not trying? I take it you have never played at a competitive level or you wouldn’t make such moronic comment… Offensive approach was less than stellar.

I understand the situation by both and wish the kid the very best. Play of the game offensively was Brockenbrough knowing the pitcher and at the last second stepped up slightly to draw the HBP. Just noticed it rewatching the final inning, very slight adjustment but seemed intentional knowing where Beaver had been throwing all weekend

I get that. But teams have off games here or there…this was an entire weekend of looking lost. It looked to me like they let the pressure beat them.

It was a good move to load the bases and set up the force at home IMO. I woulda walked her, too.
Again, I am sorry, but I think White is a .400 hitter with a reasonable amount of success. All it would take would be a chop to SS. I am sorry, that is what happened.

You were either going to get her with the bases loaded and zero outs…or second and third with one out.

Note: Under either circumstance, we lose if she hits that same ball.

You pick your poison. I’d rather have the force out at home.

I would have pitched to #9 hitter and walke

I would have pitched to the #9 hitter. If I git her out I would have walked her and pitched to Pruitt, hindsight is 20/20 though. It is what it is.

Exactly. Hell, we got a ball on the ground and still couldn’t get the ball to the plate in time for even a force out.
From AL perspective, that was the perfect ground ball. In yesteryear, it was called a Baltimore Chop.

Like Alabama standing in PG’s areas? They crowded the plate all series.

That was good coaching and adjustments by both players and coaches by taking away that zone that Payton liked to hammer early in counts. What was frustrating was seeing our players not necessarily make that adjustment against briski cause I am sure 80% of the time it was a drop on the inner half.

Lose a lot of starters. Gotta hit the portal heavy!

I've said it before and I was crucified for it on here but players take on the personality of their coach. Prime example is CTV and his players. Our coach has always been timid and played it safe. It bites us again. Until our current coach or our new coach has swagger, plays aggressive etc this is what we will continue to get every year. It's what I've grown to accept and say...It is what it is! GBO
