The knuckleheads who make the programming decisions at ESPN missed a great opportunity this evening. They put Tenn/Texas on the seldom watched Longhorn network and cost most of the nation a chance to watch a great game with outstanding pitching. Instead, they have Texas/Stanford on ESPN2 in primetime. Without their stud pitcher who pitched against us, Stanford is going to get stomped into the ground by the Longhorns. Why couldn't they have put the Tenn/Texas game on ESPN2 instead?

Donihoo was an average shortstop. She was only playing the position by necessity.

It's generally not wise to start throwing out superlatives about a freshman who hasn't played a single college game yet. Her comments already look pretty dumb. The time to start heaping superlatives on a player is after, or when, they've played superbly---not before.

Getting off subject, I am definitely not an Alabama softball fan, but I was watching some of their game tonight against Virginia on SEC+. I think the SEC coaches greatly underestimated their abilities this season. If memory serves me correct, they were picked eighth in the conference. They are much better than that. They have a new stud pitcher named Kayla Beaver, a 6'1" grad student who previously played at Central Arkansas. She has already thrown a no-hitter this season against Villanova on Feb. 8. This girl is definitely going to be a headache for the rest of the teams in the SEC. She wears a protective face mask and sports glasses and is a very formidable presence in the circle.
The Lady Vols had better be ready for her. We will probably see her twice since she appears to be their ace. Things are gonna be rockin' when we play them later in the season down there.

Going to need to let all the best players play so when runners are on base we get some timely hits. Not that we didn't have the right players up for that yesterday who didn't come through. We still are trying to play some non hitters in the lineup when we have better options.

Milloy CF bad day yesterday, but she will come through long season.
A. Leach RF put a left hander in the second slot against righthanded pitching.
West LF better hitter than last season
Boo 1B She is a clutch hitter need her in the four to drive in runs
Nugent Hit .279 at Oklahoma hoping she is a better hitter here has been ok thus far
Puni DH She will get going thus far not much
Pannell 3B Solid hitter and third baseman
Rodriguez 2B Could move higher reverse her and West if she continues to hit like she has thus far
Mealer SS Needs a shot is a better hitter and Faw has not been the defensive player we were led to believe.

G is a good defensive first basemen not a hitter wasn't last year and going to be more like .250 again.

It tells that Ralph was the brains behind the operation. Look at the batting averages and on base %. If you use them and what we have seen from watching, her lineup makes no sense. She doesn’t have Ashly Rodgers any more to hide her bad decisions this year.You can’t say in interviews, if you hit you play is how you’re going to manage a deep lineup. By the facts that was a lie and only agreement she had yesterday was playing the best defensive lineup which I disagree on that angle but we only scored 1 run in 14 innings. So that ain’t working!!!!! Play the best hitters it’s a hitters game. We haven’t even seen Brockenbrough yet, that’s a same. Shes got underclassmen sitting for upperclassmen that aren’t producing and when they all graduate and with the upset underclassmen going into the portal because they didn’t get there fair opportunity to play we are going to be looking like Alabama a few years ago with a mass existing.

Puni not cleared to play 3B is causing an issue on putting the best 9 in. Rotating 3B, 1B, RF isn’t helping…throw in struggles at the plate and it’s cause for concern. Only a matter of time before pitching has a valley and offense will have to overcome.
