CU Inning Summary: 0 Runs, 1 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB

Bella will make some errors but also several great plays and the errors will become less and less. The contact has been good recently and she’s drawn a few walks. If she can get a few hits to get some confidence, she will be fine. I know what position Laura can get some PT. Love Karlyn’s poise and fire. I think the plan is for the two to relieve each other all year, and Charli once in a while once through the lineup. Hopefully those three will be enough. Gonna have to be cuz that’s what we got.

I reckon, Karen going some lineup manipulation, Start Payton or Karlyn automatically have go back in if needed, I'd say Charli has limited chances to get it right. We'll find out when the Conference sludge starts. Honestly she has not looked too bad. Main thing nobody get injured, stay healthy. 🥎👍🤞

Cagle is legit. Hopefully as we go along we finally get a certain person out of the lineup. Faw is looking better though. Puni is just going to take time.
Faw will be fine, it looked like it was coming together for her at the plate yesterday and today. The error she had on the throw she didn’t have her feet set because she was trying to make a play on the run. I will take those errors every single day because she made two other plays today that I don’t think players at SS that we’ve had in recent years would have made.

GK is going to play until either Puni is able to play the field or A. Leach consistently outhits her and moves Pannell back to the infield. She’s solid in the field, good behind the plate and tough-minded. From what I understand, she was voted as one of the captains this year, is a real leader in the locker room. Do you sit all of that because she’s a .245 hitter to put a .260 hitter? I don’t know a lot of coaches that would.

Great game today! Missed the first few innings doing income tax.
The TV analyst, a Clemson Partisan, was very impressed with Tennessee's team in general and specifically with Faw. He commented several times how she was making difficult plays look easy.

initially, I thought West slid over the bat that was still in the base path when she scored but in review, when she slid it appeared her left knee hit first and was jammed in the ground as she started her slide. Hope her injury is not something that will keep her out of the lineup.

TV Analyst alluted to the fact that Nugent was playing for the Oklahoma team that ended Clemson's season last year. Ironic that she got the big hit today.

We have a great team. If we can stay healthy, we could have a great season.

Faw will be fine? She hasn't been fine--In 17 games played /14 starts she's got 1 hit. On top of that, a bunch of errors. Not trying
to crack on her--but I'm quite sure we've never had a freshman starter who played worse.

Any chance Gibson moves back to 1B and Mealer to 3B?

Then your frame of reference must be pretty small.

Have you watched games, or are you looking at the stats alone? 6 errors committed so far in 16 games. In watching several of those games, several of those were on throws after coming up with balls that most players wouldn't. The numbers are what they are, but without the context of actually watching how they are achieved, they're useless. She's obviously not going to play if she never gets a hit, but her at-bats this weekend and yesterday are night-and-day from what we saw the first two weekends.

I'm glad the coaches don't give up on kids as quickly as this board does.

Let me summarize my view of your comments. I look for progress from everyone on a reasonable timeline whether that be players, coaches or Athletic Depts as a whole.

it’s not all about stats or W-L it is about are the players growing on a reasonable timeline. I judge players that way and coaches. I judge the AD on how he is holding coaches for their team‘s growth. This is how I view whether a coach has reached their/her full potential.

A freshman ball player cannot be perfect and in most cases cannot be close to perfect at the start. The question is progress being made as you would expect. Here she seems to be growing.

Now if a few of our coaches would grow or leave….
