Seems to me that whenever Karen gets nervous, she defaults to small ball, which is, IMO, one of the primary reasons the Lady Vols have never won a WCWS.She wasn’t recruited for small ball.
I feel like Morgan is our second-most-valuable player at this point. If she has truly had some sort of batting epiphany and keeps putting base hits into the holes like she did this weekend, she's going to be a real weapon going forward.Nice adjustment for Morgan this weekend.
Have to let your players be who they are.Seems to me that whenever Karen gets nervous, she defaults to small ball, which is, IMO, one of the primary reasons the Lady Vols have never won a WCWS.
She needs to be told that if you try the same thing every time and it fails every time, that maybe you think about trying a new way. Just sayin'.
This is the most embarrassing thing I have seen in softball. It’s a poor representative to their softball program. Shame on Chris and Kate for allowing this to happen. If you can’t throw the pitcher you shouldn’t be playing softball. It extended the game 45 minutes to an hour longer than it should’ve been because of that garbage.2 years ago the catcher for Auburn was throwing back to Maddie Penta and Penta was not looking and the throw hit her in the face. Since that happened she has had the Yips and unable to throw it back to the pitcher in the circle. I applaud her for figuring out a way to keep playing the game that she loves. Also does not really slow the game down that much at all.
It extended the game 45 minutes or an hour? Take 45 minutes off any of the games and they would’ve been the fastest games played in college softball this year. Get out of here with that nonsense. Take a look at the game times from the three games this weekend, they are all well within the average for Tennessee this season. This is the most embarrassing thing I have seen in softball. So what you are saying we win these games were the SEC Champions cause if we win the six SEC games remaining that is almost certain to happen. We would also almost certainly be ranked number one in the country if that all happens going into the SEC Tourney.Okay. So to win out we only have to win one home game against the No.19 Clemson, three road games at No. 20 Ole Miss, and three more road games at No.1 Texas A&M.
Easy peasy!
But seriously, of course going 7-0 down this tough stretch would be the most epic finish of any Lady Vol season in history (IMO), and might even take a bit more luck than usual.
I don’t think it’s impossible, though. Our players seem to be in a good head space right now. Pitching is really good, and they’re getting enough hits to win games.
Obviously TAM didn’t reach No.1 by accident. They are really good and we could go down there and get swept. I don’t think that will happen, though! At worst we win one, I think. More probably, two. And if all we fans light enough orange candles, wear the right good-luck apparel and have Aggie voodoo dolls ready to torment during the games, we could sweep THEM!
But yeah… one at a time. Clemson is up first to lose. Then the Rebs.
Knock ‘em down!

No it’s not. It’s pathetic when a troll comes on here just to slam the players and coaches. Karen has won a lot of games…..I doubt you were ever a real coach. You miss no one because you only come to troll. This is why Karen bunted Boo, but she should’ve pinched hit someone to bunt in that situation. She’s still strugglings with game management. We miss Ralph for that reason.

OMG! You're right! lol For a while now I've wrongly had in my mind that we'll finish the regular season on a tough road series. I have no idea how I got that in my head, but it stuck.Texas AM series is in Knoxville not College Station.
I don't think its that much of a stretch. We hold the tiebreaker over both Oklahoma and Texas. Texas and Oklahoma are both 1 game ahead in the loss column. Both of these teams still have to play each other in a 3 game series at Oklahoma. The only other team ahead of us is the Aggies who are 2 games ahead of us in the loss column and we play them in a 3 game series at home to end the season. I can see both Ok and Texas losing at least one more game unless there is a sweep at Oklahoma. It's up to us to win. out.OMG! Wow! That makes it even more possible that the Lady Vols could have an historic finish. Again, I realize how crazy that would be. It would take us continuing our current trajectory, and our opponents making a few costly mistakes. But what an opportunity this program has!![]()
We have to sweep our remaining 3 game series left with Ole Miss and Texas A&M,So what you are saying we win these games were the SEC Champions cause if we win the six SEC games remaining that is almost certain to happen. We would also almost certainly be ranked number one in the country if that all happens going into the SEC Tourney.
Just to be clear, the tiebreaker only applies for seeding in the SEC tournament. Everyone that finishes with the best record or winning percentage in the SEC is considered the SEC champion. We have to sweep our remaining 3 game series left with Ole Miss and Texas A&M,
A&M has Arkansas (no cakewalk) and us left.
Texas has Oklahoma and Kentucky left
Oklahoma has Miss St (2 games today), Texas and Florida left
We need one loss by Texas and Oklahoma to activate the tiebreaker. Oklahoma has 8 tough games and Texas has 3 but those 3 are at Oklahoma. Should we continue to win, and the tiebreaker comes into play, our series with the Aggies will determine whether we 3-peat or not.
JUST WIN BABY!!!
Almost every hitter makes an out 60-70% of the time. Everyone has errors and some are worse than others and the timing can hurt more. The home plate ump can affect the game also. Softball and baseball requires some luck to go all the way.Surprised that were ranked number one. We certainly have our problems guess other teams do too.
