Tennessee Softball 2025

Will Doyle or Clarke crack the lineup?

Will be hard for Emma to take over catcher with Sophia back for another season. I will say, if Emma gets an inning or two every week or so, she'll have a very respectable batting average and will prove she can hit with power. Emma can play every position so I expect Karen will find ways to get her on the field.

Erin may be one of the biggest keys to our win/loss column. With Payton Gottshall in the Pro's, the pitchers to go with Karlyn are Charli Orsini (who appeared to have improved from what I saw at Fall Ball) and Sage Mardjetko (good pitcher but not as good as Gottshall at this point). We will need solid play from our Freshman pitchers. Peyton Tanner and Erin Newer both pitched really well during Fall Ball but they didn't go up against elite hitting. Still, they looked like 2 of the top pitchers from high school last year. I'm thinking a year of LV coaching is going to make the transition effective for them.

Amayah is so strong and fast but we have a lot of infield talent in front of her this year. It could become a situation where talent overcomes experience but unlikely unless someone gets hurt. Our experienced players are really talented as well. No doubt she could start for most teams. She's impressive. Lets see what Karen can do to get her some more PT.

We will need to toughen early with the schedule we have. The conference draws were a little surprising given we have been the regular season champion the past two years but.....no changing that now.

I see were starting out the season vs Nebraska guess that means were going up against Jordyn Ball in our very first game. Noticed it is being streamed by something called GameChanger. See exactly what that means a little closer to the game date.
I think we were able to watch some of the games in Clearwater last year on GameChanger. They usually just have the one camera behind home plate. Hopefully some of the Lady Vols' games in Clearwater will be on one of the ESPN networks.

The Clearwater event they are in this year is not the ESPN tournament, so there won’t be any TV coverage.

It was just announced that the Lady Vols' game with Northwestern in Clearwater on Feb. 8th at 7 pm Eastern will be televised on the Major League Baseball network. bravo!
