I watched Alabama play last night and their leadoff was a slapper that is the spitting image of Holcomb because she stepped out of the box 3 times and was called on the first one and the last one. There were 2 ladies on that last stepout. The dominating pitching is being caught up to by good hitters who have power. We are no where close to that place now. JMHO as always!

If you want to watch a team with some fire and alpha girls watch Bama. I agree a leadoff slapper is fine and players with speed are great but they at the very least must be gap hitters in today game.

They have Babe Ruth in a girl on their team she is huge and has 22 homers and 68 RBI's has power and ability to hit for average as well as the homers.

This is just not accurate. You had two slappers (plus Leach, who swings away when appropriate) in the lineup on day one, and the same thing now.

Phillips wasn’t playing at all until Seggern was hurt before the California trip. Seggern was cleared the same day Shipman was hurt. Phillips for Shipman was basically a one-for-one power hitting replacement in the lineup.

Hannon, who while left handed and fast is not a slapper and doesn’t move her feet in the box in any situation, took over in center field after UT endured some pretty disasterous outfield play from people that were in the lineup for hitting purposes.

Small ball is slapping and bunting which they do a lot of, especially giving away outs by bunting. Example against A&M bottom of the 7th Hannon lead off and tried to bunt her way on and we were chasing 2 runs. Parsons and Holcomb are slappers. Leach and Hannon slap and hit stationary from time to time, but more to the point all four bunt a lot. That’s 4 of 9 hitters that use small ball more than not!

Was watching the end of the big ten championship the Minnesota pitcher who is a very good pitcher had reached 300 strikeouts for the season which they were all excited about as an amazing achievement which it is. Monica Abbott averaged 600 over her four years at UT!!!!!

Alabama lead off hitter is a slapper who steps out about every time and Floridas 9th place hitter is a Jenna Holcomb clone who is step out slapper as well. Each team has just one slapper in the lineup!

When to fall ball game with daughter not this year but last. Pitching matchup Bama Goodwin vs Sprang. Later heard she had signed with Bama. Sprang had trouble throwing strikes though I thought the ump was reallly tight that day. Sprang had some decent movement but what jumped out was her speed she was not throwing hard at all I scratched my head that day thinking how is she the number one rated pitcher of this class. Was really excited to see the big hitters we had signed Ayala and Morgan didn’t jump off the page as power hitters. We won but I left a little disappointed that day.

I have watched a few games that Sprang has thrown for OK state and nothing looked to have changed. this was earlier so not sure her record but she had to be #1 from something I never seen. I was so excited to finally get a LH stud but turned into a philly!

I hate them have to Florida props for stepping up. Bet Bama wishes they would have pinch hit for their slapper who when o for the tournament. Bama and Florida will get super regionals will a third from the Sec?

If there is it will be LSU I think and then it will be #8 if so!
My thoughts in no order is: Okla, Wash, Ariz, Ucla, Minin, FSU, Ala, Flor.
I also think we get 10 teams in as well.

Sec will get 12 in at least with a chance of A&M sneaking in. Miss state would make 12 they are at 32 rpi.

Miss Sprang did not improve a bit by going to OkSt --- still very last option from the pen ---- BTW, new lefty stud coming in next year, kind of tall & thin physique but supposedly throws strikes

YEp and Sprang was supposed to be as well. Maybe Callie will be the medicine that we need.

She does, but Monica Abbott is illegal in her pitching now, too. They are arguably the best two pitchers in the world. (Monica didn't leap at UT. But I watched a documentary last night on YT about Monica playing in Japan and she's clearly leaping -- as opposed to crow-hopping/replanting by Barnhill. Her windup/release has been tweaked over the years and I wonder if that has something to do with it.)

If Barnhill has a shot at making the Olympic team, and the US hopes to be successful with Monica in the circle, it needs to be corrected.

It will be interesting to see who makes the Olympic team. Cat Osterman has come out of retirement in hopes of making the team, and she was known as a bad leaper at Texas, but never got in trouble for it in international play. Also, Barnhill is the most blatantly illegal pitcher in terms of planting I've ever seen in softball. Leaping isn't as noticeable in real time, with some fairly noticeable exceptions in Jordan Taylor at Michigan, Kenzie Fowler at Arizona and Stephanie Brombacher at Florida.
