Tennessee Transfer Portal Targets

JJJ: 13.9ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.5 spg, 1.1 bpg, 43.1% FG, 38.3% 3PT, 86.8% FT
Santi: 12.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.1 apg, 1.3 spg, 0.4 bpg, 39.7% FG, 43.4% 3PT, 85% FT
KC: 14.8ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.8 apg, 2.1 spg, 0.1 bpg, 50.3% FG, 46.6% 3PT, 55.6% FT

I mean, it's very close...JJJ had a huge run to end that season, but Santi/KC both were also on fire.

KC's stats were even better than I thought...and I knew they were very good - thanks for posting. I love SV but he was shutdown too much in our last 5 tourney games scoring 10, 9, and 5 in 3 of those games (and I understand that helped other players get some better looks but still need more from him in those big games).

Top 5 team if we can snag Knecht as well
Not sure if we'd be top 5, but we'd be adding 2 guys who can shoot the 3 and penetrate and get their own shot when needed. Both appear to be quite good at using the glass as well. Wouldn't be as big, but I'd be pretty excited to see how UT would look offensively with those 2 guys on the roster. Not getting my hopes up on Knecht. If Oregon wants a kid, they'll usually get him.

We could take another commit prior to someone announcing their departure, not sure of the date we have to be within the 13 number, probably first session of summer school.
They don't actually count towards the numbers until they're enrolled and start class.

Nice!

1 - Freddie/ZZ
2 - Santi/Gainey/Carr
3 - Mashack OR Gainey
4 - Ledlum/Estrella
5 - Aidoo/Awaka

If we add Knecht then I could see him starting at the 3, adding Ledlum will make that 4 spot pretty strong and I'm sure he could even play a bit of the 3 if we needed more length in the post.

I know I give Tony Basilio crap, but he had a pretty interesting stat in his blog today…

“Of the players that have entered the portal since 2021, a staggering 71 percent averaged fewer points at their new school. Last season 60 players transferred in to the SEC and only 11 of them averaged 10 points or more. In other words there are a lot of 'Rick Barnes' transfers out there. Buyer beware. A bunch of teams have slowed down on seeing the portal as a solution this off-season. Of course Arkansas thrives in it so it's full pedal to the metal for them.”

Basically it’s not just Tennessee or Barnes who have struggled to find major impact type guys in the portal.
