He has an additional year of college basketball available. It’s not been officially announced what he’s going to do. He was the only TN player to start every game in 2022-23. Anything is possible.

I would love to see Gainey not use a scholarship

If I made over $5 million a year, I’d much rather give one of my assistants a $40K raise then have to force out a player I recruited. (Yea, I know Barnes can’t just hand over a $40 K check, but he should be able to work out something with the AD)

More balanced and better equipped offensively for sure. I think overall talent is pretty even.

Getting Knecht is huge. Wasn’t that excited for Ledlum, but love this pickup. No longer sad about losing JP.

If there isn’t room for them, then why is the staff recruiting them? Put your thinking cap on for two seconds. Obviously the staff expects there to be room for the two of them which means your hero Uros is definitely gone, Olivier is definitely gone, JJJ and JP are most likely gone. This isn’t difficult to figure out.

I think Knecht coming solidifies that Phillips is staying in the draft.

Either way, it’s not a bad trade.

Phillips is more athletic but Knecht brings more on offense.
